Works Great

I bought this to go with my netbook. It is lightweight and works fine.

Great little drive that works out of the box

Just recieved the drive and it worked flawlessly. Bought this to replace a HP ultra slim drive that I used in a external multibay and I hated that drive. It never seemed to work just right and it consgtantly had issues (disk hitting the sides, wouldn't mount properly, etc.)

Unpacked the box, plugged in the single usb plug and I was installing Win7 Ultimate in a minute, seriously! very quiet and fast. Highly recommend especially if you are like me and have a tablet pc without a built in drive. FYI, I used this with a HP TC1100 and no problems at all with either the BIOS or Win7. Little hint to others: if you have multiple USB ports and the drive doesn't seem to work properly, instead of using the second power port first try all the different ports. I know with my TC1100, only one port supports higher power needs (and I found this out on on my own when i was researching something else, it isn't marked on the ports or stared in the documentation).

I have to say that I'm one of those that rarely give 5 stars, but this little drive totally exceeded my expectations. the only thing I with is that it came with a pouch to keep from getting the drive scratched.

A nice looking compact external dvd rewritable

I bought this because my son's apple macbook's internal dvd drive died for the third time. it's now off warrenty. It would be 260 dollars to fix. Instead I bought this on Amazon for 65.00 dollars with free shipping. It is really cute, black and white looks like an apple match. It works well and is important for installing new software. When he gets a netbook in a year or so he can use this with that. the idea is a good option to reduce apple repairs on poorly designed slot drive dvd's.
