Extremely good value.

I'm hesitant to rate this product so high because they will raise their price after reading this and the previous reviews. Sorry about that future buyers.
I wanted a tuner to drive a 19" LCD monitor I had on hand so I could use it in my RV. A flat panel on the wall is a great space saver in a camper. I was pleasantly surprised at how well this worked right out of the box. It was so refreshing to get a full screen display as soon as I turned it on. I had previously fought display settings on a laptop for hours and never got a good full screen picture on this monitor while playing a DVD.
I tried several resolutions and three worked equally well. I couldn't tell any difference between 1024 X 768, 1280 X 1024, and 1680 X 1050. They recommended 1280 X 1024 so I left it there. I tried it with a Cable box and two DVD players with perfect results. I used the composite video output on all three.
If this was a higher priced unit I would take off a star because the audio output is low, the manual is real weak, and there is a minor flicker at the top of the screen. For the price and functionally this device deserves five stars.

Cheap & Functional

This tv tuner is awesome, especially considering that I didn't expect much from a then $33.95 item. This tuner has met my expectations, and I am considering buying another one if the price doesn't go off the roof soon.

I have a 22' lcd monitor, so the 1680x1050 resolution was important to me. It supports that res. and others. Geniatech even has a more advanced model for those that have monitors with bigger resolutions.

I encourage you to give it a try if you have been wondering if it is worth investigating. The only thing that I wished that it had was a bigger remote controller, but for its other values, that is negligible.

I bought this item based on reviews. Thanks! It works just as stated. Turned my 19" widescreen LCD PC monitor into a tv. Needed to add speakers. Great item for a great price. Could not be happier with it.

A nice surprise!

This device really saved the day for me. I hung onto my old 13 inch LCD monitor by NEC. I didn't have the heart to sell it. When I learned I could use Geniatech's External LCD TV Tuner to convert the signal, I was very skeptical. This can't be true, for around $30 bucks? I decided to try it. When I made the connections and set the monitor to the proper resolution, I was astounded by the picture quality! It was so sharp and clear that it rivaled the picture on my 32 inch LCD-HD TV. It was a real thrill.

I hooked up an extra pair of logitech speakers from my old computer to the monitor, thus reusing old electronics to make this beautiful set, which appeals to the part of me that cares about the environment. I have family staying in my guest room this summer, and they are impressed to have their own LCD TV. The one drawback for this model: the remote is small and the buttons are tiny. It's easy to press the wrong buttons when changing channels. A surprising plus: the remote has a button for daytime and night time viewing. Overall, I am very satisfied with my purchase. Great

I was going to by a TV for my spare room. But before I did I saw this TV tuner and for the price I gave it a try. I am very happy I did and now one of my old LCD screens is back in use and I have a pretty darn good TV for that room. Price is great very easy to install and best of all I kept a old LCD screen out of the dump and back in use. If your a think green person this is a must buy for you. Works great. A+
