Wonderful Radio with Lighted Slide Tuning

Great Sound with a wonderful LIGHTED slide tuner dial. It's great to have a lighted dial that works and looks like they did in the old days. I own a GE Super Radio (no lighted dial), a Bose Wave, a ccRadio Plus and three other various Sonys and this sounds better than any of them. Give me this radio and the GE for portability and I'm set.
I finally found the radio I've been looking for!

We are very pleased with the Sangean WR-1 Wood Cabinet Radio. It is what we wanted a radio to be, a radio. It is solid, beautiful and sounds great. A really nice radio for us old folks. The price and shipment were excellent. We have found no fault with it!

BIG sound!

This radio has it all: Power, a lot of bass, an easy-to-read and well-lit tuning display, simple controls (Volume, Off/AM/FM, Tuning), good reception, classic good looks, reasonable price, plus plenty of plug-ins (headphone jack [mono output], aux-in, etc.) The power is a great surprise! The 3-inch speaker (with rear bass port) really puts out the sound.

Another reviewer mentions the switch. My guess is that the designer made the switch OFF/AM/FM on PURPOSE, so that you don't have to keep cutting the radio ON and OFF when switching between AM/FM bands. Once ON, you can switch between bands all you want until you turn the unit OFF. This switch is an ADVANTAGE!

Another reviewer wishes there was an AUX position on the switch. If you need that, take a look at the Sony ICF-M1000.
