Great air circulation!

All Vornado fans are the best! This one is superb - only thing I would change is it should have a carrying handle on top.

Best Fan, but

Vornado makes the best fan on the market regarding air movement, noise level and design ... but I have found 2 issues. Cleaning is very difficult. Motors tend to burn/stall out after about 3 years occassional use.

Excellent for year round use

I have this unit, along with a smaller one that I use for the bedroom. The only negative side it the base needs to be tightened every few weeks, otherwise the base gets wobbly and it can tip over. The smalelr one stays closer to the floor, so the tip over issue is nonexistant.

Outside of that minor issue, this is a wonderful air circulator. I live in an 8 story building, and the powers that be love to waste heat. They seem to forget that the sun's heat is strong even in the winter. I will crack the window and circulate some cool air. This lowers the temperature and exchanges some stale air.

In the summer, it can help the air conditioning from working too hard and/or assiting in the even flow of cool air.

Great deal on a great fan!

I believe this fan is an older model, but it's better than 95% of the new ones out there. Quiet and powerful, it can silently move a lot of air or a little if you choose. If you can get your hands on one, get it.

The seller, "Fan Attic" provided outstanding customer service. Shortly after I purchased the fan, the price dropped 20%. I asked for and they gave me a refund for the difference. I highly recommend buying from "Fan Attic"!

Very happy

I am thoroughly, 100% pleased with this fan.

I live in a two story apartment with a loft office area giving us a big open space with 30' ceilings. We're also on the top floor, so we get a lot of direct, California sun on the roof. This gave us a huge mass of hot air in the house that even the cool evening breezes off the ocean couldn't displace. And in the winter, all our heat would go pile up in the loft making the rest of the house too cold and my office unbearable. Our place is vertically challenged for temperature control, so we really needed circulation.

Enter the Vornado. It moves all the air in the main rooms of the house and circulates the cool air. The air in the house used to be stale and stagnant, now its fresh. If you come home after leaving the house closed up all day, open the windows, turn on the fan, and it will clear right out in a matter of minutes. As for noise, the low setting is almost silent and still very effective. The incredibly effective high setting does sound like a fan, but it's not too obtrusive even when watching a movie nearby.

In my experience, the only other fan that would come close is a permanently installed whole house attic-style fan. That's significantly more expensive, not to mention not an option if you're renting or if you don't have an attic.

Oh, fun little side note, the fan is just the right height and angle to stand in front of for a quick, power cool down after a work-out. I've noticed everyone in the house once in a while just standing in front of it for a quick blast, even when its not particularly hot. It's just refreshing. And that's a nice bonus, I think.

I've just become a big fan of Vornado fans! I usually only feel this happy with a purchase after buying a new piece of fun electronics, like an iPod or something, not a boring old utilitarian fan.
