Authentic rainstorm

I find this weather CD very authentic with thunder and rain. The rain sound fades in and out which I find more soothing than a monotonous recording. I have about 15 weather CDs. The only other weather CD I would recommend is "Rain on a Lake".

You'll like it.

I bought this CD because I like
to fall asleep listening to rain storms.
As I live in the desert southwest, I don't get
to hear as many as I'd like to.

I stick it in my computer, adjust the volume
and set the player to continuously loop the play.

I sleep well when it's on.

I've heard better though.
The version I wanted from the Environments series is available only on vinyl disc
or possibly cassette.

I bought this song for my ipod and it is amazing! Not only is it relaxing, I got is for 89 cents! Itunes was charging $9.99! Plus, using the amazon downloader,which I downloaded for free, it automatically put the song in my itunes library! YAY FOR AMAZON!

Perfect Thunder... and there are no birds!

I don't know what some of these reviewers have been listening to, but there are no birds in this recording. Nothing but rain and thunder. Perfect for someone like me who loves a good thunderstorm, but lives in a place where they are few and far between.

There must be more than one version of this....

I can't believe the same thing sounds so different to various people!! Surely there must be more than one version that's being sent out? Mine was a download and maybe at least some people ordered a CD. I don't know, though, because there's more than one difference.

As for the bird, all I can say is "What bird?". Have tried to find one and can't. I detest the sound of birds, insects, etc. in my rain CDs and don't blame anyone who complains about that, but I personally can't fault this recording on that account. As for authenticity, I find this mediocre. The little bit of wind (I guess it is) doesn't sound to me like it belongs there and I think it's an add-in. The varying intensity of the rain that someone said they enjoy in this is almost nonexistent in mine. Plus, there's no really hard (or heavy) rain at all. Except for the (sometimes too loud) thunder, it would be monotonous.

But it's not as bad as some I've bought and didn't cost a lot. I may even be able to listen to it sometimes, although I doubt it'll ever be my favorite.
