Just right for the right situation

I purchased this surge protector to mount on the wall in the basement where I recently moved all my network infrastructure (main wiring distribution panel, DSL modem, several routers and switches, wireless access point). It works perfectly because each outlet is spaced far enough from the others to accomodate those bulky transformer blocks. As to its appearance, I could do without the color-coding bands, but functionally it is ideal for the purpose other than I can't verify its capabilities as a surge protector.
