highly recommended
Mamma mia CD
I went to the
musical
recently here in Melbourne and loved it and wanted to get the music, I am enjoying the cd, it is fantastic! Thank you so much, your prompt service and delivery is much appreciated.
Mama Mia! Better sound!
The
Musical
Mama
Mia
has one very big advantage. All the singers are professional singers. If you're an
Abba
fan then this is much better than the movie version. The singing is much better and there are more
songs
. If you're a fan of Meryl Streep and/or Pierce Brosnan then get the movie sound track. Both are good sound tracks but the Theater version is definitely better music.

Mama Mia the musical
I saw the Broadway performance in Durham, NC last month and had to have the CD. This is a great rendition from the original performance in
London
. This was a used CD and is just fine.I would recommend this recording over the movie recording. The singing talent is much better. Who wants to hear Pierce Brosnan butcher the couple of
songs
he sang?
Put together by
Abba
's own Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus,
Mamma
Mia
! manages to cram over 20 of the Swedish supergroup's
songs
into a threadbare plot. It goes a little like this: Young Sophie is getting married and she's trying to identify which of three men is her father. That's about it. Wisely, the
musical
doesn't mess around with the songs, save for the insertion of some dialogue or for having some of them performed by a man (it works amazingly well). Abba fans will jump on this import of the
London
production, but traditional fans of musical theater should consider it as well. After all, Andersson and Ulvaeus's songs have always felt as if they were more than isolated pop gems and actually belonged to a longer narrative. --Elisabeth Vincentelli
