Good item, fulfill the specs.

the product fits the bill: a lot of links">USB ports, a very light constructions, external power supply and A-to-B cable.
The power supply does not come rated for 220V, onli 100-120V, and that is a problem if you travel.

Don't mess around with a cheap Hub - buy this one

I've had a couple of cheap links">hubs and had to send them back. This one is outstanding. Win XP accepted it with no issues and all of my USB items worked the first time. This includes iPods, cameras, external HD's (powered from the hub), external DVD burner, click drives and a floppy. My strategy was to save the connectors on my laptop. I have docking station but was still plugging things into the laptop itself regularly. This ended all that and it is totally transparent.

Everything it claims to be.

I was having a problem with too many links">USB devices and not enough power to run them all. After researching many other products I chose the D-Link because I have had success with other products of theirs.
I have printer, trackball, scanner, PDA, external hard drive, digital camera, label printer and the occasional thumb drive plugged into this product and they all work as expected. Before getting the powered hub I couldn't use the external drive without first unplugging a number of other devices.

Flawless USB 2.0 Powered Hub

It is really quite simple...A powered links">hub is necessary for many of today's devices and recommended if portability is not crucial.

I have used this product for my Mac Tower for years and purchased this second one for my Father's PC Notebook.
