I really look forward to getting this magazine. It has wonderful tips for cooking, and for buying equipment for your kitchen.

Cooking school magazine

Opening this magazine is like taking a step into cooking school. The information and techniques I've learned have boosted my cooking to a whole new level.

I really like the comarisons in cooking styles to achieve the best quality and report what extra steps work and which ones aren't necessary.

Great magazine for those of us that like to cook, want to get better, but can't take the time or afford to go to cooking school.

Cook's Illustrated = Kitchen Porn

"I swear I only buy it for the articles!" Seriously though, this magazine is everything I ever wanted in a cooking magazine (or any magazine, for that matter) and more. I am not a magazine person, and after having received a free subscription to Food & Wine after I started cooking seriously last year, this is such a welcome change. Food & Wine is too frufru for me, too pretentious and fancy. I just want to cook, not sample wine with every meal! I love the techniques in Cook's Illustrated, the explanations behind the techniques, the gadget reviews, the complete absence of annoying and worthless advertisements, and of course, the recipes. While I don't try every single one of them (I'm kind of a picky eater) I do read them all. This is the only magazine I've ever bought and read cover-to-cover. It leaves me wanting more. I hate that it only comes out 6 times a year! The magazine provides wonderful recipes with easy-to-follow instructions and uses simple ingredients that can be located in almost any grocery store. I love their other magazine, Cook's Country, almost as much, and I love their cookbooks too! If you are just learning to cook like I am you will find this endlessly useful. My cooking has come a long way in just a short time with the help of this magazine.

Drool

I'm a piker as far as cooking goes, relatively speaking, and this mag has never steered me wrong. In fact, the damn thing is, dare I say, inspirational! Don't buy the zines at the checkout counter, instead get a subscription to this magazine. I think you'll be satisfied.
