Fantastic little stereo

I bought myself this stereo and have absolutely loved it. My niece loved it so much that I bought her one, and she is a professional musician. Me, I just knew it sounded great no matter what I played on it. She got into a whole discussion of it not distorting at high volume, etc., etc. All I know is that the music (from opera through rock) sounds absolutely fantastic on it! Now I want to buy one for my sister, and that will probably be it for now!

i bought the 280 watt version of this stereo about 5yrs. ago and i was very impressed.my buddy who was staying at my house had the jvc giga-tube a 460 watt stereo and i thought it held up very well compared to it,for half the cost also.the only problem with it today after alot of use is the cds wont change hardly and the cd player door gets stuck,every thing else works fine.i have recently bought a replacement for the phillips but still have the phillips in my bedroom. a good replacement was hard to find after being spoiled with the phillips great sound but the panasonic 540 watt satisfied me very well,but the phillips is not blowed away by my new one even. its a great item you'll grow to love.

amazing sound

Before buying this system I went to a few retail stores with my own CD and cassets to test diffrent shelf audio sysytems. I tested at least 25-30 systems. This one intially repelled me by it's look (I must admit it looks strange with all those yellow colores), untill I finally desided to test it. To my great surprise, it's sound outperforms all outher systems that I've tryed .... It has great balance of low, medium and high pitch sounds, unlike most of the other systmems that have one or the other, but not both. I am glad, that after long search I arrived to this one. Get this one and you will not regret. Another important thing, Philips gives 3 years of warranty for extra [money] with oppotunity to get a service at local repaire stores. Pros: the best sound for the money, cons: ugly look, but doesn't matter--still definite FIVE STARS .

Hottest deal on Earth!!

I just bought the third version of this stereo (FWC-788)and it was astounding. The bass on it was terrific. I only had it on 20 and it rattled my windows and shook the speakers off of the table. I like the design and the flashing colors. It has everything i wanted and needed, it has 3-cd changer, am-fm tuner, cassette decks, alot of bass, 280 watts+140 acoustic bass energy, 6 preset equilizers, 6 virtual ambience controls. I had done alot of research on about 200 stereos before i bought this one. I had to pick between this one and the JVC ggatube. I picked this one because its user friendly and cool looking,plus philips is my trusted audio company an because the jvc's are complete junk.
