A must have for your FoodSaver!

I use this accessory for my FoodSaver more than any other item. The wide-mouth canning jars are easily cleaned for re-use and are less expensive than FoodSaver bags and canisters, which both break their seal too frequently for my satisfaction. With a canning jar, once you seal it, you can use the screw-on ring that comes with the jars to help keep the seal. Don't go without this accessory if you have or are looking at buying a FoodSaver.

Great accessory!

I use this wide-mouth sealer several times a week. I have saved a wide range of things: nuts, chocolate, flour, salsa, simple syrup, crackers... The best part is that when I open something I've canned (pickles, applesauce or jam, for instance) I can seal it back up and it lasts much longer. (Please note: this does not equal the original state that the canned product was in. Canned products that have been opened must be refrigerated after sealing with this product). Lids are very inexpensive and can be purchased separately (without the jars and rims). I always heat my lids (just as I do when I can) to soften the wax seal. (About 10 minutes at medium-low heat - just below a simmer - do NOT boil). This ensures a good vacuum seal. After opening the jar again, there is no need to reheat the seal. Just take out what you want and vacuum seal again. It works GREAT!

Very Handy Device For Sealing Wide Mouth Jars

This Jar Sealer is very sturdy and works great.
It does not come with a hose attachment.
You can go to Lowes and get a 1\4 inch irrigation connection with 3 feet of hose for about five bucks that works fine.
I also punch a small 1\16 inch hole in the top of the jar lid then place a piece of electricians tape over the hole.
Then when I seal the jar I just pull back the tape to release the vacuum. Which means you dont have to pry the lid off.
The tape is reusable many times.
Wash and spin your lettuce.......chop it up into pieces like you would to eat it. Then vacuum seal it in a quart jar.
It keeps fresh for days.
This jar sealer will work with any vacuum sealer with a 1\4 inch hole to plug the hose into.
I have a Weston Pro 2300 that works fine with this jar attachment.
