Excellent for reliabiltiy and quick ice cream

This is a lot of fun if you dont mind investing a few bucks. Some recipes are quicker than others, I have the mango sorbet on my list, but can't quite graduate from the french vanilla, which does take some time to make the batter on the stove and then to chill for at least 8 hours before the processing can begin (but oh so worth it!). It is delicious and is easy to create other flavors-add fruit, candy, etc. for other wonderful variations. The vanilla made 2 quarts which was a good sized batch-not a drop was left. If you like ice cream and would love the taste of homemade (and who doesn't?), do yourself a favor and pick up this extra piece! When I saw that there was an attachment that would turn my mixer into an ice cream maker with little effort, I was all over it. I have an old fashioned ice cream maker, but it doesn't get much use because you had to add the rock salt, well, you know...it's a hassle. This ice cream maker is wonderful. Easy to assemble, easy to use and if you store the bowl in the freezer, you never have to take the extra 15 hours to freeze it properly.

Fantastic!

I haven't made home-made ice cream in many, many years. I got this attachment to use on my mixer that I purchased about 6 months ago. I stored it in my upright freezer, and used it to make ice cream on the fourth of July for the first time. I don't understand why some people are complaining about using it in hot weather. I live on the southernmost tip of Texas on the U.S./Mexico border, and outside temperatures are in the 100 degree range. I also have air conditioning in my house (so why is outside temp an issue???). I chilled the ice cream mixture overnight, and made the ice cream in about 20 minutes with the attachment. I remember the days of hand-cranked ice cream makers using ice and rock salt--waiting hours on end to get the ice cream. This thing is great!! I highly recommend this attachment!
