Minor Flaw, but the Price is Fantastic

I was in the market for a good sounding subwoofer but didn't want my bank account to suffer. I found this gem on amazon and was pleased with all of the positive reviews, so I purchased it. I've had it for 2 months now and have been pleased with its performance. I use it for my home theater setup and it is an essential component. Once you turn it on the difference it makes to your audio is outstanding. The reason I gave it 4 stars is because the sub has an annoying hum when turned on but not in use (so I simply switch it off when not using it). Otherwise, it has plenty of power for its price tag. I would buy this product again.

Good entry level sub at an affordable price

I am a novice piecing together my home entertainment center, so admittedly, I am no expert in this arena. I already own four bookshelf and a center channel speaker, but once I installed the PSW12 I was very pleased. Movies are much more enjoyable now. This sub provides rich full sound, with deep smooth bass.
Controls allow you to fine tune the output so you don't get boomy base, unless you want it. Music sounds equally as good. Vocals are clear and crisp. I would highly recommend the PSW12 for anyone on a budget trying to put together a decent home theater/entertainment system. Good quality at a great price.

Great sound at a good price

I'm not an audiophile by any means but I like my music to sound good. My system consists of NAD power and ADS speakers, and it sounded pretty good to begin with, but just didn't have the depth I wanted. With my large combined living room/dining room area, I decided (after reading several reviews) to go with the PSW 12 rather than the 10" model and I'm glad I did. It enhances the system at all volume levels and really helps hit bottom cleanly without distortion or muddy sound. It's also very versatile with its input signal options; I use lines from the amp's speaker output. The adjustable crossover and output level adjustment are great for fine tailoring and tuning the sub to your system and space.

I've had the sub for about four months and we're still having the honeymoon. I can recommend this unit without reservation.

polk psw 12 Sub

I use the sub in a basement home theater and works great! Room size 30x25 and can feel the thump. Matches up great with my onkyo tx-sr605 receiver and streem ht808's. Highly recomend!!

nice, crisp base - good value

Great unit, easy hookyp and works very well w/ our Yamaha receiver and Niles in ceiling speakers. Am I an expert on subwoofers, no but I did a bunch of research on these when I bought it a year or so ago and this product seemed to hit the sweetspot between price and quality.
Note: it is VERY powerful, get the smaller unit if you don't have a huge room to rock.
