I used this series of Meguiar's foampads for the first time after using the twisted wool style for years. While I'll probably never totally give up the old, really like these foam pads. I did a very costly custom paint job on a street rod and used these pads to finish the paint - it turned out super slick. You do have to use these as well as the old twisted loop wool pads with care, but the foam pads will not burn through paint as quickly.
As far as another person's review, the product description says 'quick change system' - caveat emptor
