I bought this and some Meguiar's One Step Compound to rub out an older boat with a badly oxidized finish. It cut through the oxidation like a knife!!! It's holding up great and the quality of the pad is excellent. I couldn't be more pleased with it.
Meguiar's W4000 Cut 'N Shine Wool Buffing Pad and first reviewer
Hi A response to the first review
I have not purchased one yet but can assure you Meguiar's should get 4 or 5 stars at least! You must be a new comer to the art of taking car of your car. First if you want a pad and all that goes with it you need to buy a kit! Second not all pads do the same job so they have to have a way to get you what you want and not try to sell you what you don't need. Most if not all buffers come with a backing plates! If you have a buffer without one they sell kits which include the backing plates. They usually have several pads which can be used but are not the cure all to detailing your car. But not only that there are several size backing plates for all buffers! There are several systems some not even requiring a backing plate but you do need to spend 15 to 30 for the spindle needed. Nothing I hate more than going to buy two screws and they only sell them in sets of 3 this solves the problem! Do you even know if this is the pad for the work you want to do. Remember the pad with the plate might be almost $30.00. Do you have a duel orbital buffer or is it circular makes a big difference. This is not meant as a hand tool it is used on a electric buffer! Amazon has the best return policy and pays for it. I for one would be upset if every time I purchased a Pad I had to buy a backing plate. Most companies have at least 4 to 6 pads from 3.5 11 or so inches for each kind of buffer they have. The pads don't last as long compared to the plates. You pay from 2 to 4 times as much for the plates. Would be a terrible waste of money. I am in no way part of the company's involved but don't like reviews that have nothing to do with the truth about a item or reality!

I bought this to go along with my 7" polisher which is good because the pad that came with it descintigrated. I used Mequires Polishing Compound with it and the finish on my car looks great. The pads seem to hold up really well to seams and corners as well. I don't notice any swirls marks either.
Used this buffer to buff the clearcoat on our 1991 Supra. It held up well to 2 rounds of intense buffing, and is still in good condition.
Meguiar's Cut N' ShineWoolBuffingPad has an aggressive cutting action that can remove serious paint imperfections and doesn't leave hard to remove swirl marks. The quick-change Velcro backing system provides added convenience.
