Cheaper than waxing, less painful too

I am a first time epilator. I was concerned about pain but it's not so bad. Compared to waxing, this is cheaper and less painful. But, it takes much longer! And the results do not last as long. It seems like this breaks off a lot of hairs, even when using properly. So, I have to use this weekly. I have very fine, blonde hair so I think it makes it more difficult to use. (Be sure to use it SLOWLY and using natural light). Sometimes, I have to go over a hair 2-3 times before it's epilated. This comes with attachments but it works best without. PROS: convenient, easy to clean, lasts longer than shaving. CONS: time consuming because you have to go slow, its loud, and it breaks off hairs so you'll get a little stubble in places.
It didn't quite live up to my expectations but it's still a "keeper".

thanks to Braun!

I had used a Braun Silk-epil before; and I was so satisfied with it that I decided to buy the same product the same brand for a second time after having my old one for more than four years. definitely try it if you have never done before! a cost much less than that of wax and a skin much softer than shaved!

great item to start with

The best thing about this item is it has to separate head, it is a great item to start with..... i bought it as a starting gift for some one and she loved it.

Who knew these things got so much better? WOW-IE!

I tried these when they first came out - in the 80's - and what a difference 20 years can make. I swore I would never try one of these things again - it was so bad. And I was not being a big baby - I had had my legs waxed before.

I am not sure what made me give these a shot again - I suppose got sick of shaving and waxing is so expensive. I had an inking that these still would not be around if they were as bad as they were back than - well they are so much better.

Look, face it, you are pulling the hair out by the roots but as you get used to tweezing your eyebrows, you do get used to this...and remarkably fast. This is uncomfortable at first - the first time - when you have the most hair but it gets easier and easier. You can even do your legs in stages if you need too.

This morning I even braved my under arms - what possessed me? Who knows... was it uncomfortable. Well, more than my legs, yes. Was it unbearable. Well, no. It wasn't even as bad as doing my legs were using the first models of this type of thing back in the 80's. There is a concentration of courser hair and sensitive skin in that area. Will I do this again? I may. This kind of hair removal isnt like shaving - hair grows back at different rates, so it will probably not grow back as dense and perhaps not as course.

If you have waxed before - this is no worse. It's certainly cheaper and the results are better than shaving. This unit is a plus all around.

No More Waxing!!!

I started off with the epilation head with the reduced number of tweezers in addition to the 4-way moving pain softener. I am now just using the standard epilation head but only on the reduced speed not the normal speed. It is a little painful, less painful than waxing in my opinion. I simply use a piece of ice after use and rub on some sensitive skin lotion and have had the best results. I bought a second braun 3240 in the event that mine wears out, I will have a spare. (I heard this model might not be available at a later date). I only have to use this about once a month for the upper lip and have yet to brave using it on my legs or underarms. I love, love, love, this epilation system.

Gently remove unwanted hair at the root with the Silk-épil Easy Start from Braun and enjoy smooth skin for weeks. Unlike shaving, this unique electric system uses a series of tweezers to pull out hair as short as 0.5mm and remove stubble that lies flat against the skin. A 4-way pulsating pain softener stimulates the skin to offset the pulling sensation, and a special starter head helps you adjust to the epilation process. Once your skin is used to the feeling, switch to the highly efficient standard head attachment. Includes storage pouch. Made in USA. 4Lx2W".
