Worked great until the dog wised up and jumped over it!

My Vet tech recommended this item to keep our new puppy out of the laundry room where we kept the cat's litter box. It worked immediately and she wouldn't step on it again, but unfortunately we should have ordered the largest size available and rolled up the excess. The puppy was too smart for us. She saw the cat jump over it and now she takes a running leap to clear the mat and crashes into the laundry room. Now the noise alerts us that she is up to no good. I am still very impressed with the fast results it produced, just wish the dog wasn't so smart.

We bought this to keep our cats out of the bedroom. It worked most of the time but not if the cat doesn't step on two wires at a time. The cats now circumvent the mat by jumping over it or stepping around it if we accidentally leave the door open. If the door is closed and the mat is on the ground in front of the door, we don't get any scratching at the door anymore.

This product definitely keeps our dog from sleeping on our new couch which is great. The problem is our crazy dog keeps trying, even though he gets zapped every time. We always put the Scat Mat on the couch before we leave the house and 9 times out of 10 the sensor lets us know that he has touched it while we were gone. Apparently the shock is not bad enough to keep him from testing it over and over again (even on high). So this is a problem with my dog, not the Scat Mat. We are hoping that one day he will realize that the new couch always equals getting zapped, and leave it alone!

Solved problem in 1 day

The turf battle over furniture ended the 1st day placed Scat mat on couch and chair. I could have saved thousands of dollars worth of furniture if I got this produce sooner. The cats respect the mat and know exactly where it is but it did not hurt or traumatize them because they will lay right next to it. The cats also know as soon as it is not on the furniture. After a contact or 2 the mat will do the job even when not turned on. Well worth the cost
