this hammer is nice. i have the 14 oz- not worth it.i have the 15 oz t-bone- definately not worth it. but if your looking for a good wooden handle hammer, stop looking. this is probably the best weight to power ratio in my opinion, ever. this thing hits like a dime, and you know what you got when you hold this puppy in your hand. real nice power. the price is definately unreasonable, but i gues you got to suck it up if you want something that puts hair on you chest.

I am a framing carpenter by trade. For 12 to 14 hours a day 6 sometimes 7 days a week I earn my living with a nail gun and a hammer. The first day I used it my wrist and elbow felt better when I got home. I had more driving power than my 22oz california framer i was using. This hammer suprised me with the power to easily bump walls in place. Everyone I work with wants one now. They had all switched to 16oz finish hammers to save their elbows but I didn't want to give up the giant framer. The one thing you need to watch out for is that hammer really does drive like a 32oz so watch you fingers and your wood. I have rip ped a good inch of a 2 x 10 by missing on a toe nail. If you need a framing hammer to earn your living, buy this even if you don't need a lighter hammer. It drives faster, hits harder and the balance of it makes you hope your nail gun fails.
