Eric B. & Rakim "Paid in Full" a true classic
They just don't make rap music like this anymore, Eric B. & Rakim "
Paid
in
Full
" is a pure example of what rap is suppose to be. I feel so nostalgic writing this review, but after listing to today's so call rap music it feels good going back to the past.
Anytime I hear some crap on the radio, I know I can always pop in "Paid in Full" and listen to "I Ain't No Joke" and feel good. I mean just look at these rhymes:
I hold the microphone like a grudge
B'll hold the record so the needle don't budge
I hold a conversation cuz when I invent
I nominated my dj the president
When I'm see i'll, people freestyle, going steadily
(Sample of "I Ain't No Joke")
Ohhh it feels so good to hear this, I mean such great timing with the beats, able to deliver lyrics on time, and is able to get there message across with out profanities and being misogynist towards women.
A true classic in every way from the first song "I ain't no joke" to the unbelievable mixing of the beats in "Chinese Arithmetic" Eric B. & Rakim showed us how to check our melody and moved the crowd. This album is a true example why hip-hop/ rap is an art.
My favorite track is "Eric B. Is President"; this displays the best example of this as it shows how you can sample a different array of beats and make a perfect track, then add some dope lyrics and BAMM! You got a classic.
This is a must own for anybody that listens to hip-hop/ rap or is thinking about getting in to the music game. This is absolutely must if you are a DJ as well, as "Paid in Full" shows how to mix and sample songs to perfection. This is the blueprint on "what to do".

IT AIN'T NO JOKE!!!
The lyrics go: "I ain't no joke, I used to let the mike smoke, now I slam it when it's done to make sure it's broke!" C-mon, you have to admit, those were some serious lyrics for the time. In 1987 this cassette hit the streets; it was hot then and it's still hot now. This is the type of music that you put in your cd player at the house, tell the kids to move out the way so they can see how it's done! Eric B and Rakim are icons in their own right and that fact can never be denied. This is a great cd for the music lover and collector. If you are considering this cd, by all means buy it, you won't be sorry! NEOSOUL06.

A History Lesson in Hip Hop
Any person who is a fan of Hip Hop needs to have this masterpiece in their collection. It has been 21 years since this album has been released and it still sounds just as fresh as it did back in the day. The problem with most Hip Hop is most of the music becomes dated in a short period of time. This may be the most enduring quality of

. It has stood the test of time and only becomes more amazing as we approach the end of another decade.

Able to withstand the test of time!
I remember my reaction after listening to the

cassette for the first time back when I was in high school. I just couldn't believe how catchy the beats and lyrical rhymes worked together. It was continuous flow of furious fun that could not be stopped during our weekend cruising activities.
Eric B and Rakim will always have a place in my heart with their original musical creativity. The music is just as fresh today as it was back when it came out.

Heyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is diffentely the CD that you want. Talkin about a blast from the past. Eric B and Rakim is a must have for any old school collectors.
They put the "R" back in RAP. Get it now while you can because you may never have the opportunity to get it again, so get it while it's H.O.T.
