Great product

I have had the Drinkwell fountain for over a year now and am more than pleased with the whole system. The filters seem to do what is promised (I don't drink the water and my 2 dogs & 2 cats aren't talking - but they since they do drink from it, it must me OK!). The filters are easy to use, clean and change. I highly recommend the entire system.

Keeps the grime and mildew out

I don't know how well the filter actually improves the taste of my cat's water, but I do know that the filter seems to trap the hair and some of the grime that somehow gets into the water. I find myself cleaning the Drinkwell less often because the filter keeps the water fresher for a longer period of time than without a filter.

I was finished cleaning my Drinkwell fountain and didn't realize I had the last filter. I didn't bother putting the filter back in. Why would Frank, my cat, know the difference. Frank refused to drink from the fountain. He has been using it religiously for ten years. At 2:00 a.m. in the morning, he was sucking on the tub faucet, which is something he hasn't done in years. So, yeah, the filters do make a difference in taste and I immediately ordered some more online. (I dug the older, 6 week old filter out of the wastebasket and Frank went back to the fountain.)I had to respond to the person who said it doesn't make a difference. It sure did to my Frank. I bought the fountain when he just wouldn't drink water out of a bowl and his kidneys were abnormal at age two. He's twelve now and his kidneys are dandy. I love the Drinkwell, filter and all. I want my Frank around a long time. Without the drinkwell, his kidneys wouldn't have lasted long. That just shows you how important water is to your kidneys, people and pets alike. Drink up!

I bought the Drinkwell Fountain at the vets for $10.00 more than it is priced on Amazon. I was wondering where to find the filters and was pleased that Amazon had them without a lot of looking around and at a good price.

A healthy way to get cats to drink more water! The fountain features a quiet motor and continuously running, filtered and aerated water. The trickling water attracts pets; and cats, especially, love running water. This encourages them to drink more water resulting in being better hydrated and having healthier kidney and urinary tract functions. They will also be less likely to jump on kitchen counters in search of a faucet. Simply fill fountain with water, place in desired location and plug it into any electrical outlet.
