This product offers enough electrical resistance to tackle any job. On the down side handle is a little bit bulky. Overall solid product.

Decent Iron for occasional use, the "stand" is very flimsy

The unit is fine but the stand is a flimsy strip of thin metal weaker than a paperclip - unstable and easily tipped over with the slightest tension from the electric cord. However, the price is right and this unit is fine for occasional use where you need the extra watts. Just beware of the instability of the so called stand.

Hot and heavy

At 60w, this is a seriously efficient soldering iron, especially if you're used to 15-30'sl. I've already melted the crap out of bits of chassis etc from only brief accidental contact with the shaft that holds the tip. It's ready to use in about a minute and stays very hot for a long time after turing off. I use a homemade power switch so I don't risk yanking it around while unplugging. The holder that comes with it is lame - get a new one if your a serious soldier. She's a scorcher.

Soldering Pencil

Was looking for a garden variety soldering pencil and the relatively high heat for this one was not a problem as I am a very experienced solderer. I've used this a few times and it seems to fill the bill perfectly.
