Timex Ironman Datalink T5C291 Review

I bought this watch after deciding that I did not want to carry around a bulky, older model Blackberry for work. It works great! It looks good enough to wear every day or to a meeting with its silver and black design. The only complaint that I have about the watch is that my company's IT departlinks">ment will not let me install the software onto my work machine (one day they will figure out that they do not run the company, and that their job is to make things easier), so sometimes I go through double entry. This means that I have to enter calender information on my Outlook calendar or planner at work, then come home and enter the info on the Timex software and download it to my watch. Overall, this is a good product, especially if you have the option to install the software on a company pc.

I love this watch. You get on your computer,download your features to your watch, snap it on your wrist and go. Other watches dont do what this watch does. I give it 5 stars.

Suits me!

If you want a watch that can connect to your computer and import your appointlinks">ments and contacts, set multiple repeating alarms, and even short text notes, you won't be disappointed with this one. I use it to connect to Outlook on my computer, so that my appointments are always on my wrist. I also really like the countdown timers, contacts (for phone numbers) and notes (for holding non-contact numbers and text). The software installed on your computer is very flexible and easy to use. I've used this model watch for several years, and wouldn't be without one.

My fourth DataLink

I've been using Data link watches since 1997 when the first ones were programmed wirelessly through the CRT monitor. I can't work without them.

I got my first USB programmed one about 4 years ago when my previous one took the brunt of a motorcycle accident I had. I upgraded to the USB unit and like it best. It's REALLY easy to program from the PC - and uploading from Outlook is a dream.

The only reason I purchased the replacement was - I tried to replace the battery in my original with the wrong one (I thought I might try the bigger 2032 size since I had them and they would give a longer life). An expensive lesson was learned... somehow I messed up the insides of the watch and while it would keep time, something was shorted out and the battery would die in a matter of days.

So - if you want to be considered a 'geek' and wear a completely classless, large watch - this one is great. If you're concerned about style and form... you probably should consider something smaller and more elegant.
