Microsoft hates FIREFOX......

Because Firefox is their competitor browser wise, they are not compatible. Even opening them as an IE tab, the fingerprint scanner won't recognize it as a 'log in page'. The mouse is great, the scanner cool too, but I always use Firefox, so we'll see how often it can be used...

Fantastic

I am very pleased with this purchase. Great price, the mouse works wonderfully and the Fingerprint Reader is awesome. Our family shares a computer and it is great to simply touch the reader to access your Vista login with out having to type a password.

The login manager works with all websites I have tried and works better than expected.

I would HIGHLY recommend this product. If you have Vista, you will have to download the updated driver, but it is easy to find and easy to install.

Unnecessary luxuries

This item caught my eye when it was featured as a Lightning Deal. Even though I felt that it wasn't something I needed, I decided to spring for it. Note that I purchased this primarily for the fingerprint reader, as I already have an optical mouse that does all I need. Having a wireless mouse, meanwhile, only forces me to use batteries. Therefore, I have not used the mouse, and this review really centers around the reader.
It was very simple to set up the reader and an account for myself. You can log any or all your fingers to tie into your account. Registering your name and password to any website is also quite simple, though please note that it only records the logon information for that specific address (e.g. registering your logon information for www.facebook.com will not log you into www.facebook.com/login) But once you have it set up, logging into to a website is a cinch.
As for the bad, I will say that you deal with a red optical light shining upward through the reader at all times (imagine keeping your optical mouse upside-down, except that the light does not dim). Along with that, the mouse works flawlessly for logging into your Windows account, as well as with Internet Explorer, but is not compatible with Mozilla Firefox. There are applications available for download online which allow you to override this disability, but in my experience, they still are a bit complicated and only work some of the time. Please also note that once you store a password for a webpage, you cannot delete that storage. You simply have to create a new stored password. Finally, do not store and forget your passwords, (especially your Windows logon) because I have read that you simply cannot retrieve them. All in all, it's a very solid and reliable fingerprint reader and certainly worth getting if this looks intriguing.

Great mouse

Love the mouse, works fine, the fingerprint scaner is more of a toy than something you need, but it was less money than the model without. Mouse is comfortable and has extra buttons that work as expected.
