Calibration made easy

I know some folks hate this product or its too slow or what not. I use it to calibrate my tv's at the house. I do not use the software that comes with it. I use the colorHCRF software (plus using the latest drivers for the Display LT). It performs very well, readings are pretty accurate. But you need to know how to use it for the specific application you are going to use the Display LT for. When I first tried it and used the disc it came with, it was frustrating at first. It will take some time getting used to it. But like I said before, I use another software to establish the things I need out of it. Price is actually darn good

Eyeone calibration

Use product with care. If calibrating a television set with the service menu, take down all default settings in the service menu before using the eye one display. Great product.

Not too bad for projector calibration.

I use this to calibrate the grayscale and colour gamut of my JVC DLA-HD750 projector to D65 and Rec709 standards. It works great with the free ColorHFCR software.
However, when I use the included software to calibrate the colour on my Dell 24" LCD screen (2407WFP), it created a very odd looking picture and worse than the out of the box settings. Can't figure out why yet. The driver included in the CD is also very very old, you're better off downloading it off their website.

Works as expected

I used the Eye One Display LT for calibrating the gray scale and color management system on my plasma TV. That is not the intended purpose of this meter, and I had to download the free software program Colorimeter HCFR and learn about calibration by reading online guides. But with some effort, I was able to do what I really wanted. The picture quality on the TV is visibly better after having calibrated it.

Pros:
Fast for above IRE20 readings
Supposedly more accurate that Spyder 2, which is the only other meter option below $150
Supported by free software to extend it beyond the intended purpose

Cons:
The USB cable is too short when working with a big plasma

Very Happy

I used this product with the Color HCFR program to calibrate my HDTV. For this purpose it did a wonderful job and I couldn't be happier.

However, the program that comes with it is absolutely horrendous. I attempted to use it to calibrate my computer monitor. It did it automatically, and when it was done it was so bad that it hurt my eyes. It was way to bright, and while it said the color was "balanced" it was waaayyy to blue.

While this would be a 5 star product, the included software is so bad I could only give it 4 stars.

However, if you plan on using the Color HCFR program to calibrate your HDTV or monitor, I believe this product is very hard to beat for the price.
