Above and Beyond the Call of Duty

Once in awhile a product comes along that works better than described, and this is one of them. I am usually a tough sell, but when some company produces something that works this well, they deserve accolades. It will run a space heater all winter, and then you can use it in a window fan during spring, to blow cooler air into the house. When it gets hotter for the summer, you can use it on the window air conditioner. Then you can use it in the fall to control the fan in the window again. This device is reliable, sturdy, and has served me without fail for a year.
You have to use it intelligently, and whenever I switch from heating to cooling, I push the little reset button on it. It has a bug or two in it, but I do not use a programmed situation, only setting it for cool or heat, on 'Hold' and letting it go at that. It seems to me it is to be highly recommended, and worth the money for being able to control those heating and cooling items supplied with worthless thermostats for controlling them. It is digital and seems to be very accurate. I cannot recommend it enough, and would give it ten stars if I could, for actually doing what it says it will do, which is getting to be unusual in the American market!

More accurate than most a/c thermostats

Wish I'd had this little guy 5 years ago. It is currently hooked to a 10,000 BTU window unit. The window unit does have a thermostat but no energy saver mode so it constantly made noise. I set the thermostat well below this little guy's settings so it would kick on when power was returned to it. Been working quite well.

Just wish they made one that sensed humidity too!

I bought 3 of these programmable outlet thermostats last summer and I just bought 2 more for this summer. I use them to control 5 room air conditioners have built into the walls. Each of the a/c's did not have an economy setting. Once the room was cool, the fan on the a/c stayed on all the time. The temperature controls on the a/c's were also unreliable and inconsistent. I got these thermostats to control the a/c's, make the temperature more consistent and keep my electric bills down.

The WIN100's were very easy to program and work perfectly. When the room reaches the programmed temperature, the outlet shuts the a/c off and it kicks back on when needed. Before, the fan on the a/c ran all the time. I can also program what times I want the a/c's to run and what temperatures I want during those times. There's settings for morning, midday, evening and nightime. Keeps my 14 year old daughter from leaving her a/c on all day at 68 degrees!!! When I want to open the windows, I just use the on/off button the side of the WIN100. When its in the off position, the ac doesn't come on at all. There is a battery backup so if you lose power, you don't have to reprogram the unit. This also makes it easier to program, since you can enter your programming when the WIN100 is out of the electrical outlet where it's easier to see, and then you can plug it in after. (keeps you from crawling on the floor to program it!!). And the WIN100 has an override feature. If you want the room temporarily cooler or warmer without changing the programs, you can just use the arrow keys to raise or lower the temperature on the outlet.

I highly recommend this outlet thermostat. It also works the heaters too but I only use it for my airconditioners.

Missing apllication.

This is just the ticket for those of us with a window evaporative cooler. Most heaters and air conditioners have thermostats built in but evaporative coolers have none. Now I can sleep through the nite without waking to turn off or turn on the unit.

Thermostat helped keep my doghouses warm this cold winter

I have 2 dogs and 2 dog houses. Prior to this winter, only one of the dog houses had a heating mat as one dog is furrier and fatter and didn't really need extra warmth. However, the fat dog started switching dog houses and the skinny dog would be freezing in the non-heated house. We put mats in both houses but wanted a way so that they didn't have to stay on all the time but only when the weather was cold (also so we could avoid going outside twice a day to switch them on and off). I bought this thermostat and set it up to come on whenever the temperature dropped into the 40's. If it warmed up the next morning it would go off automatically. It solved my problem and my dogs stayed warm! I hope it keeps working for the next few years.
