Great Bedtime Soother

This is our 2nd purchase. Our infant son has the first one, and his sister really loved it. She would sneak his out at nighttime after he fell asleep. So we got one for her. The music is nice and soothing, the multiple settings for volume, time, lights and music make it so flexible for whatever your little one craves at nite. We love it!

best toy ever

My daugter got this when she was born. I buy it for all my friends who are expecting, its something new moms wouldn't think they need. My daughter is two now and we use it every night. I lost the other slides except for one. If I could recomend one thing to the company, it would be to have a place to store the cards that they wouldn't fall out, that would be better.

Best Gift

This was one of the best gifts that we received for our daughter. She falls to sleep wonderfully with it. I love the fact that the music lasts up to 15 minutes!! She is now 18 months old and we still use it for her every night. It is also easy to take with for travel and batteries last a long time!!

Perfect Sound Soother

My child could care less about the light show, but the music is perfect to get him to sleep on a fussy night. The sound controls, timer and musical selections are wonderful. This remains one of the favorite items I received at my baby shower. We use it frequently, and the battery life is great. Have only changed the batteries once in 17 months.

Has a few issues, but my son is crazy for it

I was skeptical when we received this as a shower gift (nearly 3 years ago). I figured it would sit unused for a while and end up in the donation bin. I couldn't have been more wrong - my sons got some sleep issues, and this thing has been worth it's weight in gold.

When he was an infant the music helped soothe him to sleep. When he was a young toddler, he thoroughly enjoyed playing with the buttons. And now that he's 2 1/2 and in a 'playing with lights' phase, it's once again come off the closet shelf. He practically hops into bed and demands his "light." We leave the music off now (an option I appreciate, because he's used to his classical bedtime CD), and he happily lies in bed shining the colors on the ceiling. No more screaming, crying, or throwing himself against the bedroom door after we tuck him in. No more finding him asleep on the floor in a destroyed room when we check on him. He's just sleeping peacefully right where we left him, with the soother on his pillow. There are minor annoyances (and they're all on my part, my son doesn't seem to notice), but I'd buy another one in a heartbeat if ours broke.

Pros:
- several sounds/songs to choose from
- several timer settings
- volume switch (dial would be nice, but the 2 choice switch is pretty baby toy standard)
- options for music only, light only or both

Cons:
- music and sound effects sound very fake/electronically tinny; I found this extremely annoying
- the shapes are ridiculously blurry unless you put it as close to the ceiling as possible (to the point that the exchangeable shape cards seem almost pointless beyond providing color) I thought we'd use it to make up stories or something with the changing shapes, but you just can't see them well enough.

Now you can soothe baby with classical music, sweet lullabies, or soft nature sounds while offering a scenic light show that's just right for different ages. Mom can choose from Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star and Beautiful Dreamer lullabies to help baby drift to dreamland, classical selections from Bach and Beethoven, or nature sounds like a babbling brook or tweeting birdies.

Moms can also change what's projected to match baby's stage of development, sliding a new card in as visual skills improve. For newborns (birth-3M), projections are simple, high-contrast images designed to help teach focus. Infants (3-6M), get complex shapes and colors, designed to intrigue as visual skills improve. When baby is old enough, the moon and stars project soothing colors on wall or ceiling with its rotating base. The soft light also serves as a great nightlight.

Choose a music length between 5, 10, or 15 minutes. And take the show on the road, for calm, comfort, and compact portability wherever you go. Includes a convenient handle for portability, three image slides that are easy to insert and store conveniently in the base and power/volume control. Requires 4 "C" (LR14) alkaline batteries (not included). Measures 11" x 3.375" x 11".
