Internal Card Reader

Unit installs easily in a 3.5 inch bay and plugs into an internal USB header. Care is needed to insert cards to avoid misalignment, especially with CF cards to avoid bending of pins. When unit is initialized by insertion of a card, four removable drives appear in the computer directory tree. These can be disabled when not in use by closing down the USB connection from the task bar. Overall a simple and convenient unit for dealing with removable memory cards.

Easy to set up, working well

I bought this to replace an older card reader that didn't read the newer SDHC cards and it works exactly as advertized. The only complaint I have is such a minor one I hate to include it but here goes: the installation sheet that comes with it states that after you plug it in if everything is working there should be a solid green light on hte front. In my case this was a solid red light. In other words the power and activity lights were reversed. Like I said, very minor! All of the slots work and although I haven't tested a transfer rate, it seems OK to me.

Working great in new WIndows 7 build

I installed this in my new desktop build (Win 7 Home). Installation was a breeze and it has recognized every card I have thrown at it. The only negative was that I could only get one screw in to secure the reader. This is due to the front cover of my case projecting out. It seems secure, but I am careful inserting cards.

have if needed

Rather than scramble to find a card reader to read a card, bought and installed this to be covered. Reads alot of different cards but literture is lacking. Would have appreciated more information with it. Can't get driver detective to recognise it's drivers and it uses four positions as removable drives under "My Computer". Would look at other multi format readers for a more informative one and less drive letters use. Would like to know how these other users installed with only one drive letter, as it states that it will use four. For the price, can't beat it.
