Easy to use and performs as expected

I have a BlackJack smart phone and it works great with this unit. I found it easy to install and with the 10 programmable keys, it makes my phone very useful when traveling. I have not had it for long, so time will tell if there are any negatives, but so far so good.

Nice device, but questionable tech support?

It looks like ThinkOutside was bought by iGo, and after trying for tech support each day for a week, it looks like their web site is finally back up...but a bit weak in terms of tech support-- can't find drivers for Windows Mobile 5.

The keyboard is a rather ingenious folding design and has a OK feel when typing, but it's a bit annoying to have the center section not lock in place so that the keyboard does not sit flat. In fact, the bumps on the back of the device keep the center section raised, so when you type it sort of bangs back up and down a bit. The PDA holder is pretty worthless -- mine slid off repeatedly. That's a HP iPaq 5915 which did find the keyboard pretty easily.

Nice as always

ThinkOutside always made nice products.
I knew this keyboard since the "wired" Palm Portable Keyboard version - and I kept thinking since then: why don't they make a bluetooth version? Well, they heard my prayers and finally I have a 5-row keybard with dedicated numbers row. Way to go, guys!
Downside: it could be less thick ;)

Functionality issues on Moto Q

The full size keyboard is very nice. Actually full size, with number row and all, unlike many other fold ups that claim to be full size.
It seems to have some functionality issues with my Motorola Q though. The softkey buttons don't always work. The enter key does not work in DataViz Documents to Go. Instead, the enter key toggles selection mode.

Driver Heck

Pros: Excellent Physical design, compact, efficient
Cons: detachable stand is prone to loss, the driver - a thousand curses upon it - is buggy beyond reason.

From a hardware perspective this is the best keyboard available. Long ago I had the original which physically plugged into the Handspring Visor. It still functions (both of them) and in terms of design has proven itself to be rugged. So when I saw this come to market I snatched it up without a second thought.
Again the design proves to be superior. However I really hate the mirrored chrome surface. They were of course kind enough to include a polishing cloth, but I much prefer the original black matte finish of the original Stowaway.
In terms of the software driver, I have to say I'm impressed with the effortless over the air installation - and I have had to use it at least a dozen times. The problem is that it continually sends my Treo 650 into an endless reset loop which is only solved by a hard reset. I can do a soft reset and delete the driver but so much instability remains that I have to hard reset and reinstall.
Contacting the company by phone and by email is a wreck. In both instances I was basically met with the quiet hope that a new driver is in the blocks somewhere in pre-beta mode.

I'll hang on to the keyboard until such a time as a new driver becomes available (if ever) but for now it remains little more than a light duty paper-weight.

Perfect for the mobile professional who likes to travel light, the foldable iGo Stowaway Bluetooth keyboard enables you to easily type email, revise documents, and surf the Web on your mobile phone from a full-sized keyboard. And because it connects via Bluetooth technology, you won't have to carry an additional connection cable.

Quickly type emails, edit spreadsheets and surf the web on your smartphone or PDA with this full-featured folding keyboard. (Mobile device not included.) The keyboard includes user-programmable shortcut and command keys for complete remote control, as well as a fifth row of keys for dedicated numerical entry. It's compatible with Palm OS, Pocket PC/Windows Mobile, Symbian OS and WM Smartphone operating systems (not for Blackberry devices; see this keyboard). Download drivers automatically from your smartphone/PDA.

Nicely compact, this 10.7-ounce keyboard measures 13.8 x 5.1 x 0.5 inches, and it folds down to an ultra-small 5 x 3.5 x 0.9-inch package. Placing the keyboard on a firm, flat surface offers the best results, because of the folding design. However, you can use it on your lap as long as the keyboard is supported by a magazine or book across its open expanse. This wireless keyboard is powered by a single AAA battery (alkaline battery included) for about 90 hours of continuous use. It also features a power-saving auto-sleep mode to conserve battery power when not in use.

Compatibility Palm OS, Pocket PC/Windows Mobile, Symbian OS, and WM Smartphone operating systems and supports devices from Palm, Acer, Audiovox, Cingular, HTC, Dell, T-Mobile, Motorola and more.

What's in the Box Keyboard, case, 1 AAA battery, CD-ROM with drivers, and QuickStart Guide
