Sony MDR-G42LP Street Style Headphones These headphones are better than the linked Sonys, that I have been using for years. The sound quality is rich, crisp, vibrant, with lots of bass. Also can be very loud, which is great if you're in a car. The cord is a complete bonus, it's made out of a fabric-like material that is MUCH more durable than regular wires. Plus, my cat can't chew through them as easy. :] They produce amazing sound quality, much better than I expected (comparing to the Sonys) Overall, a great product for the clarity, bass, loudness.

Surprisingly Loud...

I just bought these Headphones 10 mins ago at the Dollar General down the street (I had to rush out and buy new ones because the left earpiece in my old ones Super-lightweight Stereo Headphones cut out permenantly) And although these ones were more then double (5 +tax)what I paid for my old ones (2.18 w/tax)

They were LOUD...my favorite thing in the world...LOUD music.

As I was returning home I switched them out...put the new ones on my ears...and pressed play..as soon as I did that I nearly dropped all of my stuff.

As an added bonus not only do you get interchangeable ear covers (Black, Red, Deep Blue and the Silver Blue that they come with) and not only are they one sided, but the cord is made of fabric instead of rubber...they seem really durable

I love this behind the neck headphone from RCA. The sound quality is decent for the average user (i'm no expert here). And it is a perfect fit - very light, flexible plastic floats behind the head and gently over the ears - just a very simple design that works. The cable is covered in a durable cloth weave and they have lasted being beat up in my everyday handbag, used for running, brought on planes, sat on a couple times, over the past 9 months or so..

my only problem with it has cropped up now when i realized that the flimsy foam ear cushions they give you will not last beyond a year, and then you're stuck with, well, a pretty uncomfortable (and louder) set of plastic headphones and the prospect of either co-opting ear cushions from other headphones for a not-quite-perfect-fit, or knitting your own. My customer service experience with RCA is a roundabout from their corporate website to their network of distributors at which point i reached a dead end - apparently I cannot even get replacement foam covers because this product is legacy and discontinued???

This is not an expensive headset, but RCA has fallen down on a minor design and logistical issue that made a mediocre brand experience from something that could have been exceptional product getting repeat business from me, if not of headsets for my family, then of foam covers for life..

i am still giving this product 4 stars because it is very comfortable and perfect for me in all other aspects (and some behind-the-neck products really are not this good) and i expect it to be durable enough to last a while with some replacement ear cushions i'm sure i can find somewhere... somehow...

noise blocking headphones, as well as all other types of cheap and medium priced headphones. For all around use, these are the best I have. They are comfortable, you hear excellent stereo sound - it just fills your head all around - and they are well made. The volume is so controllable
you can hear very low or very loud - still with the great stereo sound.
I bought my first pair a year or so ago at a local big box store just because I needed a pair on vacation and had forgotten to bring any. They were cheap. I had no idea they would be this good.

Last week, I ordered 2 more pair from Amazon. I paid $4.00 each, $4.98 S&H each. Spent less than $20.00 for 2 pair and had them delivered from
a vendor in SC in less than a week - new and packaged perfectly! I figure for this price, if the earpads wear out on my first pair, it's worth it to have a whole new pair and a spare.
