RTS+WW2=CoH

CoH is a great game.
The campaign is awesome, the skirmish let you play against the AI in
4 modes from easy to hard, also you can play with friends in LAN-fests
or can go online and play against anyone is connected.

Very realistic effects, the sounds, you can play it over & over.
The fun is always there!

Fun But Frustrating

I've logged lots of hours on this game, but it's still hard to rate. On one hand, it has great gameplay and graphics, and there are lots of free user-made maps which add to the replay factor. On the other hand, it has a very steep learning curve. I play lots of computer games, and this is the only one I ever needed my teens to give me personal over-the-shoulder lessons ... if not for the lessons, I would have never won a single battle. Another problem is that the game DEMANDS lightning reflexes and no interruptions. There is constant action and a huge amount of micromanaging in this game. That is not a problem itself but it is very frustrating because you can neither slow the game speed down nor pause the action while you micromanage. Furthermore, on some (but not all) skirmish maps, the computer cheating is awful. It is very frustrating when the computer suddenly spams dozens of new units and tanks (!) after I've captured 90% of the map. You think you've won? WRONG!!! And this is at "normal" difficulty. This kind of thing just makes me mad, and "mad" is not a feeling I enjoy when playing a game.

Installation nightmare

This is a great Real Time Strategy game. I just want to warn others about the installation process of this game.

After completing the initial installation of the game, I was forced to create an online account with Relic even though I have no intention of playing online. Then it says I have to download a patch to play the game online (I have to do this or else it will quit and go back to windows) and would I like to download it now (sizable patch 50-100 mb. but I can't remember exactly). Okay no big deal, so I download the patch,
quit the game and the patch installs itself. So I start the game again thinking that I am ready to play; What is this! another sizable patch! So I do this all over again, but not just one more time, but 4 times! The 5th patch is the Relic downloader which will help you download another 4 patches! One that I think might be over 1 gigabyte! It was late and I had to let it download into the night. Finally, many hours and a day later the game is ready to play.

Was it all worth it? Well... Yes of course, this game is awesome. But do yourself a favor and try to find a place on the internet to download a full patch (or even multiple patches) to install after you've done the initial installation of the game. This way you won't have to sit at the computer for 2 hours clicking buttons, starting and restarting the game.

Since the actual game is very good, I will only take one star off of the overall rating.

Outstanding!

This is the best RTS game I've played since Batle for Middle Earth 2. The format makes you take and hold territory to gain points for units, weapons and ammo. It is a welcome break from the usual money making protocol of other rts games. The graphics are fantastic and the game play is smooth and challenging as is the AI on single player mode. 10/10 on this one for me... any fan of RTS games should check this one out.

Best RTS Hands Down

I am a super big fan of Company. Always have been since it's release and currently own every expansion for the came that's come out. It's a fantastic strategy and it seems that with every patch the AI gets harder and harder.

Would like to see other races in the game. Italy, Japan etc...

Innovative and ass kicking. Don't belive me? Check out the video review on gamespot.
