Good product, but can be inconsistant

This product does a great job of providing you with a general idea of where you are at bodyfat percentage-wise and whether you are trending down or up, but it seems like a lot of different variables affect the reading. For instance, my % cycles from a high of 20.2 to a low of 19.1%. I've been steadily losing fat as my waist has gone from 36.5 to 35.25inches so it should be going down. These variables range from what time you take a reading, to how much fluids you've consumed, to whether you have your arms streched out the same amount each time you use the OMRON.

For how much it costs, it does a decent enough job - just don't expect a super consistant reading from day to day!

Great basic body fat monitor, easy to use

As others have said, this is a great body fat ratio monitor, particularly for the money. It has the instructions right on it, which is very helpful if you haven't used it in awhile, and can't remember the procedure to get the reading--no trying to find the manual that you probably threw away or is buried in some drawer somewhere. I had a body fat ratio monitor built into a weight scale, and was very disappointed with the lack of accuracy, despite the brand and the cost. This one seems to be much more accurate. It's very lightweight, so it's easy to store and travel with. I've had mine for a few months, and bought it after doing some research. I'm very happy with it for a small, inexpensive way to track my body muscle/fat ratio.

I recieved my Omron fat monitor a few weeks ago and so far I am pleased with it. I had been measureiing my fat loss with a Tanita scale and had been a little disapointed with the swings in the readings. The info on the Omron said that it was more reliable and accurate determinate of body fat, so I said what the heck. I purchased my unit from Amazon and so far I am very pleased with my purchase. The measurements are always very close and as long as I enter in my weight if I loose or gain lbs. it appears to be accurate. I thought it was a good price also.

Fun and useful

Friends and I decided to set monthly fitness goals based on body fat rather than weight. This device makes that so easy to track. I swear it gives me a low measurement, but I guess that's encouraging. It's easy to get obsessive and start checking it all the time. Before and after meals, morning and night, etc, but it really is a good way to track performance week to week or month to month.

Great for Weight Loss Challenges

This monitor was very easy to use and very accurate. The directions were very easy to follow.

I use it in my Biggest Loser Weight Loss Challenges so that the people in the class have another way to monitor their weight loss progress besides the scale. They really love it.
