Leo Laporte loves it, so do I!!!

I first saw this on Leo Laporte's TWiT podcast network and had to get one for myself.
As long as you dont grind the grounds too fine you'll be fine.
Also don't use boiling water, try 200°F water instead. Boiling at 212 will burn the coffee and make a cruddy brew.

Fast, easy, user friendly, plenty of cheap filters out there, easy cleanup!

You gotta try this one for yourself.

Makes great coffee! Is portable and easy to use!

I received this as a gift in 2009 and I absolutely love it! I use it all the time. I own a nice drip coffee pot, but my husband doesn't drink coffee, so I find myself using this more and more so that I don't end up wasting half
a pot. I also own a Krups espresso maker, but I haven't used it once since I got the Aeropress.

It's also easy to travel with. I've taken it with me on trips when I know that the people I'm staying with don't drink coffee. It's nice not to have to worry about breakage like you would with a glass French Press.

I bought one for my Mom and she loves hers too :) If you are a fan of a good Americano I'd definitely give the Aeropress a try.

Not a Marzocco but excellent for what it is.

No, it doesn't make espresso as good as Marzocca, not even my $2grand La Valentina. But-- a damn good strong cup of coffee, or Americano, or espresso-style fix when you're at the summer cottage. (Very portable)

Follow instructions on temperature to avoid unnecessary bitterness. It is very tolerant of grind variations. But for heaven's sake, don't buy canned beans if you can possibly get fresh somewhere. Plenty of excellent places will email you the beans pretty darned fresh. You don't have to go so far as toasting your own in a popcorn popper (but you could....).

I did get the Aerolatte for foaming milk, 'cuz it was cheap, but really it is no substitute for well frothed steamed milk. But I love the tool for what it is and use it a lot. Heavenly iced coffee, using ice cold milk, Aeropress brewed strong and cooled, a little touch of sugar and froth that baby up for almost mousse-like results.

If you're into this stuff, check out [...]

And yes, I bought both at Amazon.....

Goodbye Starbucks

Yay--perfect lattes with this little baby and the Bodum milk frother! At $50 for both, it pays for itself in three weeks. The taste and consistency are absolutley perfect. And compact--both fit in a slim drawer together.

Great product, great coffee

I have been using one of these for about 5 years. Unless I am making coffee for a group it is the only thing I use to make coffee. Using the aero press is easy enough that anyone can enjoy the benefits of one of those single cup coffee makers with a small portable unit. You can make the coffee as strong or weak as you want it (a spoon stands up in mine!) and as much as you want. The only downside is the "what the heck is that?" comments that you invariably receive from onlookers. That is pretty common for me since I have a second unit at work and I make my coffee in the common kitchen. If you have one of the instant hot water dispensers you are in luck.
One of the many positive reviews I have read over the years indicated that 186 degree water was the sweet spot for making coffee. I can usually get within a couple of degrees either way with my microwave heating the water in the morning and I have to agree it makes a wonderful cup of coffee that is low in bitterness and rich in flavor. I tend towards asian coffees (Sumatra, etc.) since they have a lower acid content anyway and I can make a good brew each morning that doesn't turn on my stomach in a couple of hours.
Get one NOW and start enjoying.
P.S. - get lots of filters. They don't go bad and the shipping for a couple of ounces of filters is ridiculous unless you can lump it in with some super saver shipping.

The AeroPress is an entirely new way to make coffee, American style or Espresso style for use in lattes, cappucinos and other espresso based drinks. AeroPress brews simply delicious coffee, 1-4 cups per pressing. Ideal water temperature and faster brewing yields rich flavor with lower acidity and without bitterness. Other brewing processes use near boiling water and long exposure to coffee grounds. Quickly brew a variety of coffee drinks including an Americano or an espresso-style shot for use in lattes or cappuccinos. Its total-immersion system permits extraction at a moderate temperature and a short brew time. Water and grounds are mixed together for 10 seconds, then gentle air pressure pushes the mix through a micro-filter in just 20 seconds, which avoids the bitterness of long processes such as drip brewing. The air pressure also gently squeezes the last goodness from the grounds, further enriching the flavor. The total brewing time of only 30 seconds results in an exceptionally smooth brew. The AeroPress is BPA free.
