Cute, but the spots ARE painted.

I recently ordered this for my 1 1/2 year old son. His 2 1/2 year old sister plays with it too. It is a nice size (about 13 inches -- lots bigger than a beanie baby) and very soft. As other reviewers have mentioned, the spots are painted on. I wouldn't really describe them as crusty, but they are not as soft as the unpainted plush. You can feel the paint or dye or whatever. My kids don't really seem to notice, however. I haven't washed the toy, but I don't think the spots would wash off. Another thing is that the spots are kind of a dark turquoise or teal color while Blue's nose and eyes are royal blue. Of course, the kids don't care, but I noticed it. Overall, it's a well-made toy and we're happy with it.

Fun plush, not so good quality

My one year old daughter loves Blue and his big nose... which fell off shortly after we got the toy. I had to sew it back in place. Also, the spots are made with a paint that seems not of a very good quality. I am not sure if it will hold after the toy needs to be cleaned; we'll see. In th meantime, my little girl loves to play with Blue.

Very Soft

I received this toy today and i'm giving it to my 16 month old for christmas. I was skeptical at first but i love it. Maybe for others they were not pleased with the spots, but on the one i received i could feel no difference. It was incredibly soft (even the spots). I would recommend this Blues Clues plush to friends and family.

Goooooo BLUE!

I was a bit hesitant about buying this plush toy after reading some of the reviews. I took a gamble as my 2 year old has just discovered Blue's Clues and really likes stuffed toys. I was happily surprised when I pulled Blue out of his plastic bag. His fur was soft and he was quite cuddly. The spots are a different texture but I didn't get a "painted on" feeling that another customer had mentioned. I'm not sure if they change the batches periodically but this was from a good lot. So, if your child enjoys a cuddle and likes the show--I say this is a good buy.

A nice quiet bed time buddy.

My son loves the program, Blues Clues. For his 3rd birthday he received his very own Blue puppy. Now when he rolls over at 2am, we don't hear an electronic song or giggle like we would hear from some of his other stuffed animal buddies.
