Love it!

I bought this camera as an upgrade on the regular point and shoot camera that I already owned. It is GREAT. I love pretty much everything about it. This set that I purchased came with the camera, a carrying case (which is great and spacious for extras that might need to be stored), a tripod (really handy and can be kept in one of the pockets on the carrying case), rechargeable batteries (so handy!) and a 2GB memory card. It was a great deal and I am so glad that I purchased it. The camera takes photographs that are amazing. Many people have complimented me on photos that they thought were professional.

Downsides: The flash cannot be upgraded on this camera so you're stuck with the crappy one that is attached. There is no way to secure the lens cap to the lens so it can fall off while in the bag which can cause scratching if you aren't careful. Also, the top dial lost it's legend (little circular disk with the images of the settings) after a few months. It simply needed to be reglued but I have never had that happen to me on a camera before.

My new camera.

Overall, this purchase went without a hitch, which seems to be the exception and not the rule these days. The camera and accessories shipped on time, to the correct address. I was able to use the camera as soon as I slipped in the batteries that shipped with it... it took about 30 seconds to find the battery location.

I tried several cameras prior to selecting this one. In particular, I appreciate the stabilization feature on the 'S3 IS' that allows me to take photos on the fly. This really seems to work. Also, I prefer the 'old fashioned' view-finder to take pictures over the new image screen that most digital cameras seem to have. This is particularly true in bright, outdoor locations. I use the screen to check the shots afterwards... that works well.

I appreciate the 2 GB memory card, too. I still don't know how many photos it can store, but I'm working on it.

My only complaint is with the bag that comes as an accessory. It is a tad small for all of the gear that comes with this package... and the zipper design is not easy to open and close. I think a Velcro or snap cover would suit it better. (But this is really getting net-picky!)

All-in-all, a good camera at a competitive price with good service.

The camera is fantastic

The camera is fantastic but some of the items bundled with it were cheap or had better technologies available. Still the memory, batteries and case alone make this a good deal. The battery charger takes 4 hours. Most new chargers work in an hour or less. I had difficulty telling if the charger was on. I purchased a second charger before my trip that works quickly and easily alerts you to the facts that it's working and when it has completed the charging cycle. All in all, it wasn't a lot of additional money. The case was a nice size, but the workmanship was only fair, it was fraying before the end of my trip.

I love the camera! It's effecient, versatile and fast. The zoom lens was great!

Awesome price for the bundle!

What can I say? I was skeptical at first, but for $380, it included a number of accessories such as, tripod, 2G memory card in addition to the standard card, carrying case, battery charger, rechargeable batteries, cleaning kit, adapter, and cables. What a great deal!
