Does not charge iPhone 3G

This is the best FM transmitter I've ever used, but after I upgraded to the new iPhone 3G the unit only works as a transmitter. The iPhone 3G displays a message saying this unit will not charge the iphone. The old iPhone worked fine with the unit.

Long lasting, totally worth it, FM transmitter.

Okay, so I've had this product for over 2 years now, and it just recently started to go bad, it randomly switches which side of the car it plays on. But I am very pleased with this product over all. I go to college out of state so with the combination of driving to school and all the other driving I do, this unit is pretty much in constant use. It works well for me living in a metro area, and through all the country roads I use as well. I also love it on my road trips as it is so easy to quickly change the radio station as I am driving though different parts of the country.

Obviously when purchasing an FM transmitter you have to remember that you are using the last resort for playing outside devices on your stereo. For me this was my only option as I have a custom car stereo with no tape deck and no bluetooth input, to my knowledge anyway. So I went though several FM transmitters before this one. including the ones that just plugged into the ipod without using the dc power outlet in my car, to other ones like the Kensington, with no good results. I gave up looking for one as I figured they where all the same. Until one day my dad brought me home this one and said that the worker at the electronics store had recommended it. So of course I tried it, and it hasn't left my car since!!!! It plays with near perfect quality all the time! This is an amazing product, and I am writing this review after 2 years because I have returned to buy another one!

Convenient little product

I bought this item for my husband for Father's Day this year. What prompted my purchase? Well, I bought him a really nice iPod for his birthday right before our big Europe trip - and really - since then - he doesn't get an opportunity to use his iPod. He doesn't travel for work, he doesn't go to the gym to workout, etc... Right when his gift arrived, he got it set up in his vehicle (very easy set-up). Worked like a charm from the start. He said some of the music doesn't come through quite as clearly as he'd like - but having experienced it myself - I haven't noticed any of that. We live in the Twin Cities, and haven't run into any interference w/ other radio stations.

If you don't want to spend the money to hard-wire your iPod into your vehicle, I would definitely recommend this device. It's very reasonably priced, in my opinion, and really convenient. I like too that we can swap out his & my iPods - as we have different taste in music.

Not perfect, but not bad.

I have had this FM transmitter for about a month now and I really like it. The sound quality is not crystal clear all the time, every once in a while I get a little static, but it is never bad static, and it never lasts long.

One of the greatest features for me is the iPod charger plug, because I never have to worry about having a dead iPod, when I turn the car off it turns the iPod off and I don't have to fiddle with the iPod volume to make the sound quality good(changing the iPod volume does nothing).

I would recommend this to anyone without a tape deck or aux input who has an iPod.

alright for 1 year..

I thought it was great when I first got it, the ease of having to push a button and it moves to another set station if it starts to get static. It worked great up until the past couple of months. The charger piece where you plug it into your ipod has been very finicky and the sound cuts out if the wire is moved or touched the wrong way. I am looking for a new adaptor. I think I paid around $50, and it has lasted me one year. Buy it if you want, but beware that the wire may give out after a little while and you may have to cradle it in your lap as you drive to be able to listen to your music without it getting cut out and sound like the singer is in a cave!
