Convenient Universal Travel Adapter

This is an all in one adapter that is very convenient to have when traveling. I gave this adapter 5 stars cos it does what it's supposed to, it lets you connect your domestic electric devices into foreign plugs. However, this device does not step down current (i.e. it does not stepdown UK 240v to USA 120v), that its not its purpose, if you want a step down converter look for something else.

If you're only visiting a single country, or countries that share the same plug configuration, a single-purpose adapter is cheaper, less bulky and won't have any moving parts. However, if you need adaptability to multiple configurations, this adapter is solidly-built and not too huge. It contains a few pieces that snap together, so there is some chance of misplacing a piece. The USB port is a nice plus if you have devices that recharge via USB but not a computer to plug them into.

Works like a charm, but cheap and flimsy construction

I purchased this ADAPTER (it's not a voltage converter!) for a trip through France so that I could charge my iPod and use a hair dryer. It worked perfectly. Just be gentle with it because they used cheap plastic construction. Also, one of the "adapters within the adapter" fits inside the unit (you can see it in the product picture, at the top near the USB plug), and must be removed for use. This creates the possibility of losing it. However, in all fairness, it works. This adapter even accepts the US 3-prong grounded plugs. I also like the indicator lights that tell you when its functions are working. The only reason I did not give it 5 stars is its flimsy and cheap construction. Otherwise it gets the job done. Again, it's an ADAPTER, NOT A VOLTAGE CONVERTER.

Nicely built and flexible

I bought this for 2 reasons, international travel and iPod charging via USB port. It's a pretty reasonable alternative to alot of these iPod chargers, since it also includes all the world plug options. I like how all the pieces fit nicely together. The power lights are nice. Good stuff!
