Positive feedback

I was encouraged by the other reviews to try this video card but anxious that I may be disapointed. My configuration is aging, an MSI mobo with AMD sempron 3300+, 1.5 Gb PC 3200, an AGP slot with an old FX 5200 that was decent for non-aggresive use. I am really, really impressed with the difference as basically anything bellow games made only for DirectX 10 is working flawlessly at the maximum specification. The system temperature is a litlle high (53 C GPU, around 50 C the CPU) but is stable. Very good solution for upgrading an aging system and posponing a greater investment in a current system. The difference is between night and day now in terms of performance. This is by all means the last breath of the AGP. Anything beyond that will have probably bottlenecks in the rest of the system. Good choice.

Best video card for agp

Cost/performance ratio through the roof. I can play wow on max settings with 1gb of ram and a SEMPRON processor. Agp lives on!

Good card for an aging system.

I didn't want to quite upgrade other components yet, and really just needed an NVIDIA card for playing games with WINE in Linux with good driver support. The price on this card went up after I purchased it, so it's starting to look like it's better to upgrade motherboard/cpu and purchase the less expensive but better PCI-E video cards at this time.

This card works well with binary drivers in Linux using WINE, with older games like Max Payne, Max Payne 2, Red Faction, RtCW and Mafia. Also Quake 4 runs great and so does the newer Stalker: Shadow of Chernobyl. XFX seems to have a fairly streamlined process of making sure your warranty is covered through registration if needed in the future, and the site is easy to download drivers (Windows only there?). I'm happy with the card for now, but PCI-E has really been the way to go if possible over AGP for some time.

A little more time.

I am trying to gain just a little more time from an aging P4 system with an AGP 4X video port. This card fills the bill. It's backwards compatible with AGP 4X. The nVidea drivers installed without a hitch. The card is working great with no problems. Noticeable improvement over my old card from 4 years ago when playing games. Did have to upgrade the power supply though.

Delay that new PC purchase by upgrading your graphics card...

After alot of research, this is supposedly the fastest Graphics card I can squeeze into my son's "vintage" 5yr old Dell Dimension 4500 2.4 Ghz P4. He was sooo glad Santa's elves could construct such a device. Now we're able to run Half Life 2 Episode 2 (the latest greatest...um, as of Jan 08-ish). We're at 1024x768 on a 22" GE monitor, High texture, High Detail, Reflections on. Sorry, no frame rate stats but it's smooth, nice illumination, smoke, flame, and reflection effects. Remember to remove previous graphics drivers prior to removing the old card and installing this one. Also, need to hook up the power supply to this new card...my olde card didn't have a separate power hook-up so I neglected to do this initally! Game-on with this nice card at a nice price (and remain Vista-free...for now, anyway).
