Iomega's little monolith cuts to the chase

Right out of the box I downloaded the software, plugged in the the little black beauty , and transferred about 12 gig of photographic files lickity-split. This unit has a quality feel to it and it's fast. No extraneous curves and wasted design flashiness,..it's all substance. A real workhorse

Good technology still too large in size, and a little heavy than other brands but there's no doubt is the fastest

A couple months of use and no problems

I intended this as a backup for files I had had on several different computers.
The only problems I have had were not Ejecting the drive when I shut down the computer. What seemed to happen is that my word program did not terminate its connection to the drive on shut down and this did garbage the files on the external.
The other problem was that I could not Eject/Remove the external safely but that was solved by setting the software supplied by IOMega with the drive to not use the waste basket on the C: drive for files I deleted on the external
I would buy another if I were looking for another external

No complaints

An external HD with Firewire 400 and USB 2.0 interfaces. Works without a power brick in either case, and the metal case and finish are exquisite. Internally uses a PATA drive, if you care. No problems.

FireWire OK!

I still have more free USB ports because of the FireWire capabilities, Great way to keep your files backed up!
