My grandson loves his new Carnival Set

My four year old grandson saw the Thomas Carnival set in a department store newspaper ad. This is the only thing that he put on his Santa list. After reading the reviews, I originally didn't feel that it would be worth the money. Against my better judgement, I purchased it for him. Am I ever glad that I did.

He had no problem (with a little help from his dad) putting the track together and putting every Thomas train he had on the track. He got my money's worth in the first day of play.

Yes, the very top of the hill is a little "iffy" and the carnival scenery piece tends to pop off, but this can be rectified with a small piece of tape if necessary.

I'm now purchasing him an add on to it for his birthday.

Another use for duct tape!

The multitude of unfavorable reviews for this toy are not completely unfounded; however, the spiral slide is way up there on the cool factor in our 3-yr old boy's eyes. I agree that hardwood surfaces are best for this. We put some duct tape on the "underside" of the track pieces so that they stay together. We added a "splint" to the underside of the incline section. It holds for a week or so around our little El Destructor with dimples.

While it isn't perfect, I'd still buy it again.

Based on a popular Thomas & Friends episode, Thomas & Percy's Carnival Adventure has multiple play levels and a large full-track layout. Electronic sounds trigger as Percy and Thomas race from the top of a spiral track! Set includes a die-cast Thomas and Percy engines and features a handle and engine storage for portable fun. Simply remove the "spiral" for more fun on the run!
