Research and read directions before you use.
For the review that complained that she did a load a few days later w/ the same
nuts
there is a reason they smelled. You are suppose to do the
loads
all in one day and then compost the
soap
nuts.
Here is the equation:
"For a cold water wash, use 3-5 shells and re-use up to four times in the same day. For a warm water wash, use 2-3 shells and re-use up to two times in the same day.
The shells are same-day reuseable -- once the shells have been moistened, they begin to
natural
ly break down. If the moist shells are kept for use on a subsequent day, you may find that they have become moldy. Discard the shells in your garden mulch pile."

I Admit......Skeptical At First
I'm very glad Amazon offered this trial size because I wouldn't have paid for the full size until I was sure it would work & DID IT EVER WORK! Because of another review I read here I waited until I had at least 2-3
loads
of
laundry
. The first load came out of the washer & dryer smelling CLEAN....you just can't imagine clean smelling like this. No scents or perfumes, just FRESH & CLEAN. Next I washed a blanket that would come out of the dryer full of static with regular detergents & fabric softners regardless of what types used. When I washed with
soap
nuts
and opened the dryer, NO STATIC AT ALL, and I have never felt this blanket this soft before. Next up, clothes, again everything came out without any smells. I wore the pair of jogging pants later that evening and they were as soft as silk with absolutely no smell or static. By now, I'm loving this product but up next the real test.....My husbands greasy, dirty work clothes and my teens clothes.....Both had just worked on a truck & changed the oil in my car. T-shirt had grease & oil, muddy jeans, work clothes just plain YUCK! This was the third washing with the soap nuts and I couldn't ask for better results-No left in yucky smells, grease GONE, no static....and my husband was so impressed he is now planning on washing hunting clothes with soap nuts because of the scent free, clean smell. I'M SOLD & will continue to use this because of my allergies to perfumes & dyes. And, I did get 5 loads from this trial size. Try it, you'll believe it too! I'm giving five stars because it deserves it but the directions and what to expect could provide more information than currently provided. I went online & obtained more information so that I would know what to expect.

From Nuts to Soap
Wonderful! A 5+ Star rating would be more accurate.
Even with our rock-hard water this stuff cleans and softens.
I've been making the liquid version and using it for clothes, dishes (with the addition of a bit of degreaser) as well as general household cleaning.
It has suddenly become available nearby (for less than the online price) so I've been buying it locally.
A great product.

Soap Nut Convert!
I have to say, when I received these as a gift, I was skeptical. I thought there was no way that these tree
nuts
in a linen sack would do a lick of damage to all the tough stains on my toddlers clothing. However, my son's skin was getting drier by the day so I was desperate to try anything. One wash was enough to convince me. Not only did all the tough stains come out of his clothing, but his whites were gleaming and after one wash, his skin cleared up. I tried a similar liquid product and his dry skin reappeared and his clothes were left looking dingy and new oily stains appeared on his clothes. I threw away the entire bottle and immediately purchased more
