Good product overall, small problem with parts

I'm a first time mom and have never used any other breast pumps. When shopping for a breast pump before returning to work, I read lots of reviews and considered other products as well. This pump was much cheaper than other comparable ones and I was concerned that "you get what you paid for". But after having used it for 4+ months 2-3 times each day, I can say that it works perfectly fine and gets the job done. I haven't had any noise issues as other reviewers. Can't say it's whisper-quiet, but it is silent enough that I can pump at work without disturbing anyone.

The reasons for not giving it 5 stars.
1) As others have already mentioned, suction and speed could've been stronger - I use the highest speed all the time and still feel like the baby is doing a better job. Also I think that I don't get as much milk with the pump as the baby does (the breasts still feel a bit full). However, it could be just my problem with reflexes and it is not a major issue.
2) Both white silicone tips got damaged exactly after 3 months of use (parts are only covered for 3 months). Fortunately, there are some spare ones included with the pump, but I'll need it for at least 4-5 more months, so most likely it will need another set. The problem is that when they get damaged the pump looses suction slightly and it actually took me a couple of days to figure out the source of the problem. Also these tiny bits are very easy to lose (once they almost fell into the garbage disposal).

Otherwise I don't really have any complaints. It took some getting used to, but overall I'm happy I haven't spent almost twice as much on Medela.

Spend the Extra $$ and Buy the Medela

Enticed by the decent price, I started my pumping career with the Lansinoh Double Electric. You will likely get milk using this pump - it does work. However, this pump does not offer a letdown button option, nor does it offer different-sized flanges if you happen to have other-than-"average"-sized nipples. As a result, I believe the Medela pumps are worth the extra investment. After using the Lansinoh for two months and becoming increasingly depressed by my milk output and increasingly sore from the Lansinoh flanges, I bit the monetary bullet and invested in a Medela Pump in Style Advanced Breast Pump with Shoulder Bag. Since switching, my milk output has increased from 1-2oz/pumping session (with Lansinoh) to 5-6oz/pumping session (with Medela - which features the letdown button and helps a ton). This was my experience...hope it helps! Best of luck with all of your pumping; it's such an amazing and rewarding - yet challenging - commitment to breastfeed. :)

Great Pump/BHA Free Parts Available

I love this pump. I used a Medela pump in the hospital and found this pump worked just as well at home and is far less expensive. I used it for both of my children and it still runs perfectly. I bought the pump several years ago, before BHA was a known issue. For my second child, I went to the Lansinoh website and was able to purchase Polypropylene parts, which are BHA free unlike the Polycarbonate parts I had orginally.

Great Pump!

I bought this pump after giving birth to my son. He only will drink breast milk so I thought that pumping would give me some extra breathing room and have my husband feed him with a bottle. For this price, it works really well! The first time I used it, I pumped about 3 oz. I remember using another pump and only would extract about 1-2 oz if I was lucky. All in all, it's very easy to use and very reasonably priced.
