In addition to all the other things people have said, about how well it cuts, how clean it operates, one thing I really liked was that the electrical cord can be pulled out or pushed in so you have only just how much cord you need to reach the socket. It's not a fixed length like the rest, so you can position it just right without all the extra cord having to be twisty tied up behind it.

Works great, solid construction, well worth it. I was very happy to remove my previous opener... Got tired of cleaning pizza sauce off the blade :)

It had been several months since I'd ditched my last, lame automatic can opener, but when I tried to open a 28-ounce can of tomatoes with my hand-held model... I turned to Amazon. Well, all those positive reviews couldn't be wrong, could they?
Nope.
The device works like a champ, even though it doesn't stop when the deed is done, as others have complained. However, you can hear a change in the sound. No problem.
Everything is true: clear cut, no jagged edge. Lid fits right back on. Clean and quick and easy.
The next day, I saw a segment on the Today Show on kitchen safety which touted this kind of opener and said can opener cuts and accidents send people to the emergency room on a regular basis.
Now I show it to everyone who visits as a kind of entertainment, works so well, can't see the side cut. Aha!
So get one. Give one. You'll always find a can to open, and why cut your finger or try to clean off that gunk on the blade?

Works Great

I bought this as a replacement can opener and it has worked great removing the lids without sharp edges. I would recommend this to anyone especially with small children or pets that can get into the garbage.

Love this opener because you don't have to worry about a dirty blade touching your food or sharp edges from the lid. I've never seen an opener cut lids like this but it's genius! Plus, it comes with a nice pair of scissors conveniently stored on the back!
