TOO LATE FOR THE REST OF YOU

Too bad, this {LcOS} technology has been discontinued by Sony: I guess too many people want flat panel TVs and as usual don't know what the market has to offer.

After 4 months usage I am convinced I got the deal of my own personal decade, I couldn't ask for better performance or price. I would pay close to 3 times for the same quality picture in the same size in LCD or plasma. Now if Sony or someone only continues to offer replacement lamps for this thing. Too bad it is no longer available. JVC used to make this kind of set with similar performance but I think they have ceased production also. A stunning performer.

BEST REAR PROJECTION TV!!

this is best tv you can purchase for any rear projection on the market. i been waiting for a reatail store to sell this tv and a really cheap discount due they the really really high ratings on this tv from cnet, consumer reports. Sony has stopped making its line of rear projection tv's , so if you happen to find one of these GET IT! BUT sony has not released its video processing chip for these tv's meaning sony might someday market more :O

Pros:easily compared to sonys top model tv's XBR4&5 series. but for ALOT less $$. 120hz

cons: NONE! and no more to come :(

Love this HDTV

This is a great HDTV. Got a great price on it and has an outstanding, supurb picture. Highly recommended.

A pleased long-time user

Although this review may seem to be "a little late", I do think that my experience with the earlier model of this Sony is appropriate. I bought a KDS-60A2000 in January of 2007 so I've had it for a few months over a year. As most of you will recognize, my unit is a 60" SXRT from the previous model year.

Like many of you, I did a lot of Internet research before settling on the Sony - it was very highly rated by a number of sites. The final straw was live viewing many sets side-by-side on the same program from the same source - it was a no-brainer - the Sony had at least as good a picture as any Plasma in the store and the price couldn't be beat.

I use Verizon's FIOS fiber optic service and have the unit hooked up through my home theater audio. The picture - indeed the HD experience - is simply awesome - especially live sports - like ice hockey.

I did "tune" the picture using the DVE (Digital Video Essentials) HD optimization DVD and it remains the sharpest, most accurate picture that I have personally seen (including the high-bucks plasma sets). I've had absolutely no problems of any kind and there have been no regrets on purchasing this set.

Another tidbit: I also purchased a Logitech Harmony 880 remote control and am able to control the Sony, the Verizon HD receiver, a Yamaha home theater receiver and a Sony upscaling DVD with a single click. It's programmed via the Logitech Internet site (using a USB connection) and can handle about any peripheral you might have. I've got a bowlful of unused remotes now. It's a little pricey at $150 but it has contributed to my HD enjoyment by simplifying the mechanics.
