fast, wireless, good quality output

I've been using this printer for month and love it. Wireless is great! Makes laptop computing in my home much more productive. I bought the printer b/c it was wireless but I've been really amazed by the speed and quality of the output. It is very very fast. I print mostly in draft mode (web pages and office documents) but even in normal mode it is really fast for home use. First page prints quickly. I'm not sure about the paper feed problems some of the reviews have mentioned. I haven't had one problem yet. Wireless set up can be tough for less experienced users or depending on your home network configuration (firewalls, security, etc) but once it is working, it's a really nice printer. Seems efficient with ink usage too...I've been printing a lot and have over 80% of the ink remaining.

good printer esp. under Linux

I got the printer unpacked and printing over the [wired] network in 45 minutes with no hiccups. I didn't try the wireless configuration. HP went through a period of shipping DeskJets that seemed kind of flimsy to me, but this one feels physically solid. I was also very happy to find that, as other reviewers have noted, there is no software to install to get the printer configured. I just plugged it into the network, pushed the button for "report page" to find out what IP address it got via DHCP, and set it up as a JetDirect. I run Linux (Fedora 8) so no software install is very important to me. I printed a printer test page, a PDF and a photo, and all look good. I feel like a bit of a fanboy writing this, but I figure other Linux users might want to know that it works well.

Wireless Printer

Great wireless printer for a good price. Installation was a little tricky. Some parts of the installation procedure were not clear and had to repeat some of the steps. Some of the problems I can blame on the quirkyness of the Windows Vista operating system. To perform an driver installation on any computer you have to have printer directly wired to the wirelss hub. I really like the features of the printer being wireless. You can virtually plug it in anywhere within your wireless router range and forget about it.

Great Printer, Great Customer Support!

This printer is fast with high quality printing. Prints the last sheet first, so when you pick up your copies from the tray they are in the proper order. This feature is a first for me, love it. Had a little bit of a problem setting up the wireless to my computer. HP customer service were pleasant and very helpful and got me up and running I am not a high tech individual and later discovered if I had taken a bit more time I could have been able to make the connection myself. The only downside, and we all know, it is the price of the ink cartridges. I solved that problem by using my laser printer for my black and white printing. Buy it and enjoy it!
