Great Bluetooth Mouse for Mac Desktop & Laptop

I find it much easier to use a mouse than the trackpad so I bought this and a Kensington Si670m to test out and after 6 months, this Logitech mouse is the best one.

First, it's got nice side rubber-like grips that have not soiled or worn down after 6 months of heavy, heavy use - the mouse is incredibly lightweight even with batteries installed - so of course, it's no strain at all to move and roll around.

For Mac users, there are NO drivers or anything to install. Simply launch your BLUETOOTH PREF to "discover" this device. Then simply press the "CONNECT" button on the mouse and it's done. What's great is in that in 6 months of use, I have NEVER had to "re-discover" this device unlike the idiot Kensington mouse that loses its connection even when the computer is just asleep. Even if you turn it off to save battery, when you wake the Mac, it lets you know the mouse is disconnected but if you power the mouse back on, it takes a few milliseconds before you see the icon for this mouse and you are ready to go.

It should also be noted that it is ALSO GREAT on battery life. I use the mouse ALL DAY long and after 6 months, I finally had to change the bateries ... I had the change the Kensington batteries like every 4 weeks, not even a month! So, even though this mouse is actually cheaper, you will save even more money on batteries (or on recharging battery swapping).

It is a little on the small side but if the tradeoff is weight and battery life, all good.

And the optical sensors are GREAT on this thing. I actually will just roll it around on my bedspread and it works just fine - and one day, it was freezing so I actually set it below my blanket and it worked just fine - so, pretty great bluetooth mouse. I bought a couple more.

No Antenna Required

I bought the mouse to avoid using a Laptop USB port for a receiver.
It communicated easily with my laptop BlueTooth receiver. The mouse ships with SetPoint 4.2 software which is compatible with Windows XP and Vista. I found that it also works with Windows 7. Nevertheless I downloaded and installed version 4.8 which Logitech says is compatible with Windows 7. I had to search the sight and finally was able to find SetPoint 4.8 by clicking on one of the newer Logitech mice models.

Excellent Mouse

I have had this mouse for about 6 months now, and I love it. It fits nicely in your hand and the reception with bluetooth is amazing. There is no work in setting this up to work with your computer. I highly recommend it's use with either a desktop or laptop computer.

Logitech V479 Bluetooth Cordless Laser Mouse has made peace between me and my cat!

The Logitech mouse was a bit of a struggle for this non-techie to load onto my MacBook; however, it has been very reliable and easy to use even when I switch to Windows (yes, I had to load it twice). I went through two mice with the USB port connection as my cat likes to drape herself over the left side of the computer. My only negitive comment is that it's a fraction too large for even my rather large hand; but, I've adjusted and my cat isn't even aware there's a mouse within reach!
