Not very well designed

The game itself was okay, but it definitely didn't hold a candle to certain previous ND games. The bowling puzzle was the only maddening puzzle in this game.

The beginning sequence was quite dramatic. However, it was not animated particularly well.

When I was very close to finishing the game, I accidentally hit "save" instead of "open" while on the main menu. Believe it or not, it saved the main menu, thus erasing 4-5 hours worth of gameplay. I have honestly never seen a game save the main menu. Frankly, I'm not too sure why it even was possible to save the main menu. Since this same design was used in Nancy Drew: The White Wolf of Icicle Creek, I suspect also in that game as well as later games that it is possible to save the main menu and lose the saved game. Beware!

Since the game was rather long, draggy at times, and not all that intriguing, I didn't have the stomach to restart it, so as a result, I never was able to complete it.

Fun, but quite difficult

To me, this ND game had fantastic graphics and was a decent mystery compared to other previous games, but it was VERY difficult. I think I had to look up walkthroughs on the internet for the entire game! I enjoyed the new features like switching between characters, though. Honestly, I liked playing as Bess more because she got to do the fun stuff, and it was a lot less hard. I was also disappointed with the ending; I knew from the beginning who the culprit was. I did like this game overall; however, if this is your first time playing ND games, I would not suggest it. This game is more for gamers who have experience with ND. If it is your first time, try something like Secret of the Old Clock or The Haunted Carousel. Overall, a good ND game, but not great.

Well as my title says Nancy in this edition of the crystal skull has decided to trust everyone even when you don't and leaves you no choice but to be duped and suffer. If you remember doing long math problems in school with lots of busy work this game isn't for you. One section that comes to mind, you must spend hours going back and forth to one room in the house and out into varrious grave points. This wasn't fun it was annoying. My favorite still remains Phantom of Venice.

my favorite in the series

This is my favorite Nancy Drew game. Well, this one and The Haunting of Castle Malloy. I've been a fan of the Nancy Drew games ever since I played my very first one which was Castle Malloy. I started with the last one and worked my way to #7. In Legend, the story-line, graphics, music and puzzles are fantastic. I even liked the accents of the voices in the game. It's recommended that you play this game in the dark to get the true ambiance, after all, you are searching for a crystal skull. But I had to take notes while I was playing so I needed light. Yes, I had to get a walk-thru more than once! Can't wait for #20 to come out.
