Great featherboard

I had a bench dog featherboard that I grew to hate. The Kreg featherboard is far better. Just the right amount of finger tension, easy to adjust, and the miter slot expanders grip tight. Love it.

FEATHERBOARDS ARE EXCELLENT, EXCEPT THAT THE EXPANDABLE MITER TRACK BARS JAM BY THEIR DESIGN. SOLVE THIS BY TAKING THE PLASTIC BARS APART WITH A SMALL SCREW DRIVER AT EACH END OF THE INNER PIECE. USE POWDERED GRAPHITE AND "SCRUB" THE WEDGING SURFACES OF BOTH PIECES WITH IT. DON'T JUST DUST IT ON. REASSEMBLE THE PIECES AND WIPE OFF EXCESS GRAPHITE. YOU WILL FIND THAT THEY NOW WILL WORK PERFECTLY AND BE SELF RELEASING. DO NOT USE A LIQUID LUB AS SAW DUST WILL STOP THAT FROM WORKING. DELIVERY FROM AMAZON WAS PERFECTLY PACKAGED.

Love the product, only thing I'm disappointed in is the fact I had to order an additional piece of aluminum to mount it on the table saw. But it works great.

The right tool for the job.

Using the right tool for the job is well known to be the answer to a pleasurable project. This is one of those must have tools that you don't know you must have until you have it (or read a few reviews) The Kreg PRS3020 True-FLEX Featherboard - Twin Pack really does the job it is intended to do, I don't know how in the world I fumbled and fussed so long with shop-made alternatives that never really did the job as well as these Featherboards.

Using these Featherboards makes it so much easier, not to mention way safer, if you don't have some of these get them NOW don't wait like I did! Get a set of fence featherboards too, using both table and fence featherboards gives me perfect results every time and all I have to do is provide the feed force I don't have to worry about holding the stock down and also against the fence.

Excellent Shaper Hold-downs

These featherboards do an excellent job of keeping the workpiece tight to the table of my Delta shaper, and I bought them to replace the completely inadequate hold-down mechanism that the shaper came with (See my review of the Delta 3HP shaper). Installing them on the shaper fence that came with the shaper required that I simply drill two clearance holes in the aluminum fence at an optimum height above the table surface, and use the machine screw-washer-thumbscrew combination to secure each featherboard to the fence tightly. This holds the workpiece in the vertical direction. I then adapted another hold-down mechanism from a Jet shaper to hold the workpiece tight to the fence in the horizontal direction. Both mechanisms work perfectly, allowing precise adjustment of the tightness of the hold-down force.
The material and workmanship of this product is excellent, all principal components are durable plastic. It is perfect for the home craftsman. Also, having a pair of them allows pressure to be applied to the workpiece on both the infeed and outfeed sides of the cutterhead: very important.
