Good product

Very nice fit at a somewhat reasonable price. Need more color options! Will definitely save a tiny, slippery camera from wear and breakage.

Protective cover

Its awesome. It really helps in keeping the camera safe, however the material really attracts dirt and is hard to keep clean.

Decent skin with some problems

I bought this silicone skin for my FE-280 camera a couple weeks ago and had been dithering about whether to return it. In the end I decided to keep it and modify it to my liking.

The skin actually fits the camera pretty well. It is thin enough that it keeps the camera's slim profile, and it feels thick enough to protect the casing from serious damage. The silicone is thinner around all the buttons so that you can press them easily. You can't tell from the product photo, but there are holes cut out for the flash, the self-timer lamp, the zoom lever, and the mode dial, as well as for the microphone and speaker holes.

Now for the problems: there is no way to access the USB port, the battery/card compartment, and the tripod socket. With the amount of data transfer I do, I was pretty bummed that the USB port is covered. I ended up cutting a flap for it so I wouldn't have to take the skin off for every download. I also found turning the mode dial and the zoom levers harder than without the skin. The screen is left completely exposed, but there are clear screen protectors available from other manufacturers.

So the skin is probably a good buy, if you don't mind having to remove it every so often (it's not so tight as to require much effort), and if you'd like some protection for your camera but still have it fit in your pocket. Otherwise, you might find a camera case to be a little less trouble.
