Needs better instructions

This antenna mast has a good build quality and seems sturdy enough. My only complaint is that the enclosed assembly and installation instructions were very poor and lacking in detail. It included anchors and screws that I couldn't figure out how or where to use, and I ended up using alternate bolts that I had on hand.

Garage antenna mount..

My garage is just northeast of my house, so the TV reception in the garage is horrendous since the local channels are at roughly 220 degrees.. or south west..!

With this J-pole mount and a small DB2 antennae mounted on the back corner of the garage roof, I am able to receive an almost perfect picture on a analog TV thru the new converter box.. Great to be able to work in the garage and still be able to see the games on Sunday afternoon.

Works as advertized

Bought this with a Clearstream4 antenna. Use it to mount the antenna in the attic, and it works very well for that purpose. It would also work well as the mount external to the house, but I did not need the extra signal strength that external mounting would have supplied. I would definitely recommend this to go along with a Clearstream antenna, although it would work just as well with any antenna type.

sturdy and simple

The product's construction is very sturdy, and fairly easy to assemble (although I agree the instructions leave something to be desired -- however it is easy enough). The mount is flexible and adjustable for a large variety of installation configurations.
One strange thing is that the mount comings with 4 expansion bolts to attach it to the wall. These kinds of bolts are great for concrete or brick walls (you must first drill a hole in the concrete/brick wall), but they are completely useless for using in wood, which is what I image most people actually want to attach it to! If you plan to attach it to wood, you will need to purchase 4 wood screws separately. While strange, this is hardly a big deal.

Does the job

Heavy duty construction and the added length was nice. I do wish that lag screws would have benn included for mounting on the roof, but that was a small added cost.

The J-Mount allows you to get your TV antenna higher than the standard 18" poles allow. The 30" tall mount is suited for most off air antennas and will attach to any surface including a roof, fascia, side of the house, or deck rail using and Terrestrial Digital antenna.
