Wonderful grill!

I've had this grill for over two years now and have been more than satisfied. I have it on my lanai where there is not much space, so folding down the sides is quite handy. Further, having bought the matching cover, it is as discreet as can be when not in use. It heats quickly, and I've found it to be quite fuel efficient. I love the electric starter--couldn't be easier. Even the clever light (which illuminates automatically when the lid is open) has been useful. The flame is quite adjustable and it's nice to have the upper rack. As it's placed on the main grill, it can be a little tight to use the space under the upper rack, but that hasn't been a problem for me. It's been easy to clean (with a grill brush) and it has weathered well too (as it gets a lot of rain where it's located). Highly recommended.

Terrific Grill

This grill exceeded our expectations. We had a Baby Q in the past and I thought this would be similar .. it was better. It is the same compact frame with the quality of a full size grill. We love it!!!

Only gas grill you need

I'm from the classic Weber school of grilling. For my money the best grill on the market is the Weber 1421001 Performer Charcoal Grill, Black which my girlfriend got for me on my last birthday. Well to make a long story short the HOA of the condo unit we recently moved into banned the use of charcoal grills so the Performer has been banished to the storage room. I was looking for a temporary solution. I didn't want to get something too bulky because I have a small balcony. I was looking at the different Webers and the Weber 4421001 Spirit E-310 LP Gas Grill, Black and Genius models looked nice but seem too bulky and expensive for a temporary solution. Then I came across the Weber 586002 Q 320 Portable Outdoor Gas Grill and read some reviews on Amazon and other sites and sounded like another great Weber product. So I pulled the trigger and ordered the Weber Q using Amazon's free shipping and took about a week to get to me. I wasn't home when the UPS guy was there so I had to go to the UPS center to pick up. Then a neighbor helped me carry up the box to my place, then that night I opened it. I was a little weary because I've seen a few reports of broken legs and other parts but everything was fine. The next morning it took me about an hour or so to assemble. It looks a little intimidating with all the parts but it's not so bad once you get going.

So after I got the grill assembled I wanted to put it to the test. My first meal on this grill was going to be a rack of smoked pork ribs. So I went to the BBQ Galore store to get a smoker box and some wood chips. I was curious to see how well the indirect method worked. So I got the grill going and when it was time to put the ribs on, I turned off the inside burner and put the ribs in the middle and the smoker box with the soaked chips on the outside. About 90 minutes later, I had some great meat-falling-off-the-bone ribs. And the smoker worked great as well. I've since have grilled tuna and salmon on it and it's turned out great. This is a great grill if you're a Weber kettle person making the transition from charcoal to gas. This has a little more cooking area with similar dimensions. The fold down tables are nice for saving space, the starter is pretty easy and the cover-light for night-time grilling is a great feature. It is also very easy to cleanup.

While I still say charcoal is my first choice when it comes to grilling, the Weber Q is the next best grill you can have. When I get a bigger place, I'll keep both the Weber 1421001 Performer Charcoal Grill, Black and the Weber 586002 Q 320 Portable Outdoor Gas Grill.

Top notch customer service

This is a great little grill that has enough cooking space to feed ~12 people easily.

It seemed odd at first that almost the whole thing was plastic, but it's extremely durable and does not turn brittle even after a few harsh winters.

Weber customer service rushed me a replacement propane manifold free of charge after owning it for 1.5 years because it (the aluminum pipe) had cracked when the grill was knocked over in a violent windstorm. Be careful if you're going to use the grill cover in a windy area. Make sure it is secured.

The Best Ever

Usually I don't bother writing reviews. This is the exception. I have been grilling for almost 40 years and owned problably 10-12 grills: charcoal, wood chunks, gas, smokers -- you name it, I've done it. I've also been a rib judge for more than a decade. Bottom line: this is the best grill I'v ever worked with. Most of my grilling is for small numbers -- at the most 6-8 people. This grill is perfect: heats up quickly (600 degrees), grills perfectly w/ grill marks, flares up when I want it to (which I like), has a great drip pan, useses less gas because it is compact, controls temperature beautifully. Set up is relatively easy -- no grill is ever easy to set up, regardless of what they tell you -- this is easier than most. This earns 5 stars, and outperforms every other grill I've ever owned. Footnote: I love Consumer Reports and wish they would review this. It outperforms their #1 grill, which I had owned. Why did I get this one? Because I used it at a friend's house and fell in love with it. You will too!
